Q: 2. Is this lens compatible with the Panasonic GH5?

A: Yes, it works with the GH5.

Q: 3. Will this lens Work on my Panasonic lumix g7k?

A: The Panasonic Lumix G Vario 100-300mm f/4-5.6 II POWER O.I.S. Lens is compatible with the Panasonic Lumix DMC-G7 camera.

Q: 4. Does this lens zoom out externally, like the previous model? I cannot find an image anywhere of the lens at 300mm, so I have to assume so unless told differently.

A: Yes, the zooming still zooms out externally as previous models

Q: 5. Any new firmware for this lens?

A: There is no firmware for this lens.

Q: 6. I want to buy some MFT lenses for my JVC LS300. Are all the Panasonic MFT lenses parfocal and will they all work with the LS300 rocker zoom?

A: The Panasonic Lumix G X Vario PZ 45-175mm f/4-5.6 ASPH. POWER O.I.S. Lens B&H # PA451754XB and the Panasonic Lumix G X Vario PZ 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 ASPH. POWER O.I.S. Lens B&H # PA144235XS can be used with the LS300 and be zoomed by the rocker switch. These lenses are not parfocal and rely on Auto Focus to maintain focus. Also note, the LS300 must crop the sensor to work with these MFT format lenses.

Q: 7. I am using a MeFoto backpacker tripod for my Olympus 10 Mark ii camera for which a tripod collar is needed with the 40-150mm pro lens (wt. 1.7lbs). Will I need a tripod collar for this lens (wt. 1.15lb)? If so, is one available?

A: There is no tripod collar accessory for 100-300, You should will fine using it without one.

Q: 8. Is this lens too big for the lumix gx85?

A: Depends on what you think is big. Compared to the kit lens that is super tiny or the collapsible 35-100 f4-5.6, yes, it is huge. But compared to any 200-600 equivalent on other systems, it is small. Any super telephoto lens tends to be bigger.

Q: 9. Is anyone using this lens for wildlife and/or birds?

A: I am a birder and use this lens with my Panasonic micro four-thirds camera! Great clarity and sharp image. Lightweight as well. This is my second round of Panasonic micro four-thirds camera and lenses. Camera has enough options for ISO that this lens works most of the time. It is not a low light lens but still pretty versatile.

Q: 10. Does it zoom in/out smoothly with no catches during video?

A: No catch. Smooth. But for video, given the focal length range, any zooming without a rock steady tripod will deliver jittery footage. That said, image quality is beyond superb. Outstanding value for the money.

[f/4 to 5.6] The lens is pretty sharp and works well with my G9. The Dual IS is great for hand held shots.

[67 mm (Front)] I finally got a pretty good deal on the Lumix 100-300mm lens for my MFT Panasonic G85. M next lenses down are 14-150mm, 30mm and 10mm. This long lens will allow me to shoot the wildlife and landscapes I like.

The lens was smaller and lighter than I expected. It may not even be necessary to use the Power Optical Image Stabilization, especially since my camera body will stabilize as well. At f4-5.6 it's not the fastest lens but plenty fast for my needs.

I am particularly fond of the lens being able to focus down to about 5 feet. This allows me to shoot subjects close up with actually getting in their face.

[67 mm (Front)] Had been tracking this version II lens for some weeks. As soon as I received the 'in stock' alert, I placed the order and lo..the next minute, it went out of stock again! Mounted on my trusted, almost two-year old GH4 I got time only to do a one minute test on auto-focus aperture priority mode with Power OIS on. The results are impressive. The GH4-100-300 II combo is going to replace my Canon 7D-70-200 f2.8 II - 2x teleconverter combo during the vacations for sure. The attached pictures are untouched.

[67 mm (Front)] I originally started with the Olympus 75-300 ii. While I liked that lens a decent amount, the Panny offers a bit more in terms of speed (F4-5.6), and also for the Dual IS on my compatible Lumix camera, the G9. Oh, and weather sealing and 3 year warranty! The results are pretty great so far, though I haven't been able to use it that much just yet due to the weather. It's a sizeable lens for m43, but it's tiny compared to the FF equivalent. I like the way it handles on the G9. The whole camera feels very balanced, and the Dual IS means I can get a clear shot almost down to 1s shutter (of something not moving, of course). Another pro is that it comes with a hood, something the O75-300ii doesn't. So far, I like what I see.

[1.69 lb] The lens is a good choice. Small and light for its range, and very good image quality. Offers in lens stabilization that mates with Lumix in body stabilization for Dual I.S. Got this for birding, and very happy. Light enough to take on hikes and handhold. There is a group on Flickr for this lens; you can see photos that used it.

[0.21x] This sense has some serious power. The zoom is clear and the stabilization is very helpful. Looking forward to getting a lot of great shots this summer out on the baseball field.
