The screw knob would be the most positive and of the two if a person was really worried about accidental opening.What I like best about the lever clamp is the speed of opening, which facilitates quick swap of the camera from portrait to landscape orientation (if you have an L-plate) and fast adjustments of the camera's position in the clamp when adjusting centering.
