Q: 1. will this head work on the iQuick3pod tripod from UniqBall?

A: Yes, it will screw right on top via the 3/8" stud on the tripod.

Q: 2. Will the BH work with Kirk L-Bracket?

A: Yes, this head will work with the Kirk L bracket.

Q: 3. Will the b9 multi use bi directional plate work with Nikon d750?

A: The B9 is meant for smaller cameras but you can still use it on the D750.

Q: 4. Does this Really Right Stuff BH-55 Ball head pan 360 smoothly?

A: This is the ultimate ballhead in all respects. It is very smooth and rock steady. I believe RRS does make special panning attachments for video, but as I am not a video shooter I have no direct experience with that. Once you use RRS ballheads, plates and tripods, you will not use any others. Ever.

Q: 5. Greeting fellow seekers-of-light. Which lens plate to buy for Nikon 300mm f/2.8?

A: If you visit the really right stuff website, there is an area where where you specify the type of lens and it matches it with the right lens plate. Hope that helps

Q: 6. will this head fit on a Gitzo GK2542 mountain series 2 tripod?

A: Yes it will fit on the Gitzo GK2542 mountain series 2 tripod.

Q: 7. Does Really Right Stuff B9 Multiuse Bi-Directional Plate work with it?

A: Yes.

Q: 8. Is the quick release clamp lever adjustable at all for width/tightness of the clamp?

A: The clamp is not adjustable, however it automatically adjusts to various size plates and tightens accordingly.

Q: 9. How stable is it for very precise target alignment at maximum zoom with a large telephoto (e,g. 100-400)? I.e does it sag after tightening?

A: This is a very stable ball head there is no sag

Q: 10. What would be the rationale for purchasing screw knob versus lever release clamp?

A: Both are equally competent at holding the camera in the clamp, and for both lever clamps I own neither has ever slipped. It is possible that the lever could be accidentally hooked on something and it could open without intending to, though it's never happened to me and I've hiked with tripod and camera over my shoulder a number of times. The screw knob would be the most positive and of the two if a person was really worried about accidental opening. What I like best about the lever clamp is the speed of opening, which facilitates quick swap of the camera from portrait to landscape orientation (if you have an L-plate) and fast adjustments of the camera's position in the clamp when adjusting centering.

[1x 1/4"-20 Male] Most ballheads have this tendency to droop a little even after tightening it. This is not one of them. Very solid and does not droop at all at any angle once you tighten it. I would have preferred its friction knob to be as refined as the one found in Acratech GXP, but pound for pound this is still a better ballhead. I did say it's heavy, don't mind the weight too much especially if paired with something like a 5-series Gitzo legs where its weight becomes negligible. The only real downside, if at all, is that to make it balanced, an L-plate for camera bodies is a necessity in vertical orientation.

[Yes] I bought this along with the RRS Versa III tripod and finally believe my days of chasing pod quality are over. This head is as smooth as silk and once locked it's locked. The entire system just works like I envisioned a tripod should work. I never realized the total value of a tripod and what it can do until I got this rig. Sure, it's pricey, but what isn't? I can't imagine anyone being less than satisfied with RRS products. Go for it.

[1x 1/4"-20 Male] Best I have used a few oz heavier than some of the other competition
But once you use it you see why it is solid Quality.

[Ball Head] This thing is very secure and feels solid. Practically no flex or droop, and the tactile feel of the knobs means that you can easily operate this ball head by feel alone. You definitely need to pair this an equally solid tripod to get the full experience.

[Ball Head] I was tired of getting soft images with long exposures. After much research online, I reluctantly pulled the trigger on the most expensive ball head I have ever purchased. Now, I'm glad I did, wether I'm shooting wide or tele, the softness from my photos is gone.
