A: The StarTech Stereo Mini (3.5mm) TRRS to 2 Stereo Mini (3.5mm) TRS BH #STMUYHSFMM is a headset splitter. It will take a TRRS headset (single plug) and split it to 2 x 3.5mm. One would be for audio, the other for the mic. If you are trying to split a signal from a headset to go from the audio or mic to the recorder, yes it will do that.

Q: 5. I understand this is designed for a LANC extension cable, but wondering if the TRS connector is wired straight through from male to female end (i.e. pin 1 pin 1, pin 2 pin 2, pin 3 pin 3)?

[0.45 lb] I use the short (6) stubs for those annoying otherwise-unusable ports on USB hubs mostly. These stub cables seem to be sturdy and of above-average quality. The female receptacles are tight, but that's a very minor quibble. So, no complaints (and believe me, I'd complain if warranted! I frequently voice invective at the producers of dumb software, especially the op-sys ;-). So far, I've not had any complaints about anything I've purchased at B&H, and I hope that it stays so. I can't say that with a lot of stuff I've bought elsewhere. 5

[3' / 0.9 m] Do you ever need to plug in a usb cable to your computer but the cable is a tad bit short. This cable does the job. I was hooking up a few sub device and after running the cable I notice that the cable were short but I didn't want to get a long usb extension cable. This item was perfect. Highly recommended. 5
