Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. We lost the mounting hex screws for the feet. Can someone who owns this let me know the size of those screws? (Length and thread size)

A: I will try to determine that for you. Might take me a few days. That being said - Would be a lot easier for you to take the feet to Home depot and try to find a fit that way. Just go to the hardware aisle...

Q: 2. Is lubricant recommended for smoother slides/reduced jitter, or will it cause issues?

A: Definitely a little lubriction would make it a smoother ride. More than jitter, its an uneven friction what I experienced with no lubricant.

Q: 3. Is this made of aluminum?

A: Yes, this features an aluminum construction design.

Q: 4. Can this unit be motorized? Is the rail an IGUS 1080 or similar?

A: I motorized mine DIY style for $25 with a Celstron low rpm motor.

Q: 5. How much weight can this securely hold and still provide a smooth slide on longer lenses (200mm)?

A: The E-Image ES50 Slider has a capacity of 17lbs/8kg. Whatever camera/lens weight combination you have, if it is under this weight, you should not have any issues.

Q: 6. does this fix in nicely with others Secced Reach Plus 4 tripod 100mm legs ?

A: Should work just fine.

Q: 7. What is the maximum Weight it can support? I am using professional Panasonic.

A: This offers a 21 pound Load Capacity.

Q: 8. can this be mounted on a single tripod?

A: Yes it can, but one thing you have to make sure is to have a good stable tripod tha can handle the weight of your gear.

Q: 9. Is this mountable to most tripods?

A: Yes, this slider will have 1/4 20 and 3/8 holes for mounting on a vast variety of tripods.

Q: 10. There seems to be spots on the slider where it becomes more difficult to move making a jumpy motions. Is there anyway to correct this?

A: If you don't have a defective slider, the one thing you can do is drag your fingers on the rail for resistance. I use a 5d without a tripod head. I attach it directly to the slider. I wish the lock would provide the resistance I would like, but it's not consistent. to smooth out the move, I drag my fingers on the rail behind the slider as I push it. the resistance helps with the move. the one thing I thought about, but haven't tried, is to use fishing line with a weight attached to the slider and hang over the end of the rail for resistance. as long as the weight doesn't swing back and fourth, and doesn't hit the ground, it should help, but like I said, I haven't tried it yet. hope this helps.

[5.2 lb] This is the 3rd slider I have purchased and the 4th I have tried. This slider is by far the smoothest. Sliders can be very expensive but this is the best I've used. Compact with it's own carry case but almost 30 inches of travel. I use it shooting 4K video with my Fuji X-T2.
BTW it does fit on just about any tripod!!

[5.2 lb] I have used the expensive sliders. This slider does the same thing for a quarter of the price! I used it just this week for shooting a wedding and I love it. It is not butter smooth but it is beyond smooth enough for the price.
