The black Countryman B6 Lavalier for Olympus Recorders, Left-Ch Audio, Blackis a miniature lavalier microphone measuring only 0.1" in diameter. It features a 3.5mm locking connector and connects to select Olympus recorders with audio on the left channel. The B6 microphone provides high-quality audio with low distortion at SPL up to 120 dB on 48V phantom power. The aramid cable combined with the ultra-thin diaphragm ensure low handling noise. And the tiny size combined with natural sound pickup make the microphone easy to position, for ambient noise and feedback rejection.

The included changeable protective caps (+0, +4, and +8 dB) provide moisture resistance, allowing you to adjust the frequency response to suit different applications or to match other microphones. Each of the three omni caps has a different high-frequency response characteristic that controls the amount of crispness or sibilance (response at 15 kHz). This microphone ships with the attached +4 dB protective cap that boosts the perceived amount of presence in your sound, while leaving the lower frequencies unchanged. You can switch to the 0 dB cap in case of problems with high-frequency feedback.

With low-handling noise and a rugged construction, the B6 microphone is a suitable choice for theater, broadcast, places of worship, and general lavalier applications.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. will the lavs work with a camcorder?

A: This item is a clip for a B6 Countryman lav mic, which is made to connect to wireless mic systems.

Q: 2. is it good for Rode Wireless GO ?

A: No this lavalier microphone comes with a 3.5mm locking pin made for Sennheiser wireless systems, a lavalier to use with the Rode Wireless Go needs to have a 3.5mm without a locking pin for a good connection without any noises.

Q: 3. Does this work on a rode link system?

A: Yes. Currently, Rode is using the same exact wiring configuration on the Rodelink that Sennheiser uses in their evolution wireless (EWG3). For this reason, the Countryman B3 Omnidirectional Microphone (B&H# COB3W5BSR) will work with the latest Rodelink Systems.

Q: 4. Does this have a mircodot connector? Is it compatible with DPA lavs?

A: This XLR adapter does not have a microdot connector, so it would not be compatible with DPA microphones. The appropriate adapter is the DPA Microphones DAD6001 Microdot to 3-Pin XLR Adapter with Belt Clip, BH #DPDAD6001BC

Q: 5. Can this survive harsh water sports like whitewater kayaking?

A: Yes, the B3 was designed to be water-resistant and it can be used for water sports as well as for reporting during a hurricane, it should survive water water kayaking.

Q: 6. Any issues with using the Countryman B3 with the Zoom H1n?

A: This version of the Countryman B3 has a locking 3.5mm connector which is compatible for Sennheiser wireless transmitters and will not properly connect to the input on the Zoom H1n. B&H # COB3W4BZP / MFR # B3W4FF05BZP is the same Countryman B3 Omnidirectional Lavalier Mic with standard sensitivity and a non-locking 3.5mm connector in black. It is listed as compatible for Azden wireless transmitters and will also work with the Zoom H1n. The mic does draw a lot of power so it will drain the H1n's battery quicker than other lavalier mics. As another option, you may want to consider the Countryman EMW Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone in black, which is B&H # COMEMWSFF05B / MFR # MEMWSFF05BD3. The EMW requires less power and is designed for use with digital recorders.

Q: 9. I have this mic with XLR connector, I would need to change it to 3.5mm Locking Connector in order to use it with my rode Wireless Transmitter. Is it possible? How?

A: This microphone need 48v and that only runs through XLR cables, the best thing to do in this case is to try to get the same microphone with a 3.5mm without a locking pin to work with the Rode Go systems.

Q: 10. will this cable work on a Samson E50 headset mic?

Didn't take long listening to my audio track to realize that I got exactly what I needed in my interview and it sounded exactly like I wanted it to when I was shopping for a lav mic. The results speak for themselves and they don't disappoint.

Great for hiding, especially with white or light colored shirts. Even when used visibly with a clip, it has a neat look. Sound quality is always good with the B6, especially in such a small package. Make sure you order the correct connector; no return, special order items are no fun tracking down refund/exchange options from Countryman. I wish Countryman made a nicer, more discrete mic clip. The cheap plastic ones are, well, plasticy and awkward looking. Can't find third-party clip for a cable that thin. Also, windscreen is off-white, not pure white. Still worthy of a five star rating. I often poke the mic through the button hole of a shirt, letting it stick out a little to avoid rustling. Most buttons are white so it's hardly visible at all. A little tape on the inside of the shirt and great audio is on the way.

I'm an independent video producer, and this mic has been a terrific addition to my kit. It's incredibly easy to hide and has great quality sound. I use it with my Zoom (but make sure Phantom Power is on, since the mic doesn't come with it's own power source!), and it's a great set-up.

As a keyboard accompanist and supporting vocalist, I found it impossible to play my best when glued to a boom mic. I tried wireless but found it clumsy and the sound quality unreliable. Then I found this mic online. Yes, I have to remember not to stand up and walk away when it's clipped on, but it's well worth that effort. This wired lavalier has all the sound quality of a wired handheld and no wireless worries.

This is a great mic and much needed upgrade for the Sennheiser wireless kit. A little small and delicate if you are used to the Sennheiser lavs, but sound MUCH MUCH better.

With an extremely low profile omnidirectional head, this is one of the best lav style mics I have ever used, and I have used them for over 20 years.

I've mostly had middle grade lav mics. Not the worst but not the best. This mic is so great I wish I would have just bought this sooner and saved myself so much hassle.

Because of the size of the mic I can put on talent so much easier. There's way less rustling noise, which was the biggest challenge with the cheaper mics and the biggest frustration in even using lav mics.

This mic makes me want to use it in all situations now. If I had a shotgun interview situation I use to want to have a safety lav mic but didn't want to deal with the hassle of the other mics. Now I'm happy I'll have both shotgun and lav for my interviews. And for walk and talk stuff I know I'll have less post hassle in that this mic will be clear and clean audio with little if none of noise issues.
