A: Theoretically, yes. The Sennheiser Freeport wireless system is no longer available and as such cannot be tested with current products. Nonetheless, the wiring on the Freeport is the same as the EW wireless systems- and the UTM-86-35H is designed to work specifically with the Evolution Series wireless system. A: Probably. Mine is about eight feet long with an XLR connection that I plug into the camera. It's easy to hide. I just add a length of XLR cable when I need to be farther back with the camera. If you're going to a separate audio recorder it should be no problem.
