Made from neoprene, it provides a thermal barrier, and is easy to install or remove. The Hoodie has a reinforced, removable, front lens element disc made from rigid plastic and foam to protect your glass from damage. [0.275 lb] When installing a LensCoat on Super Telephoto lenses, the standard Canon lens hood is tight and can damage the lens hood coat. This cover works well and I think it's quicker to install and remove. 5

[0.275 lb] It's a great soft protector for lenses since it fits right over the lens hood and takes the place of the lens cap. This item is particularly useful if you have a lens filter that won't allow the cap to stay on. Just be sure to get the medium size hoodie for the Nikon 16-35mm lens and not the large size hoodie B&H recommends. Otherwise, you'll have the hoodie falling off the lens each time you remove your camera from your camera bag. 5

[0.275 lb] I have used these on several lenses: 14-24/2.8, 500mm and 600. Great protection for the lens when not in use, yet easily stuffed into a large pocket or bag when lens is being used. 5

[Neoprene] Helps enormously in camouflaging my 600mm lens when setting up to photograph wildlife. Instead of a 95mm glass front, you can let the critters get used to the camo pattern before shooting. 5

[Neoprene] I use a lens coat on my 600mm f4 Sony, and that makes the hood a bit to thick for the factory lens cover to fit over. The Hoodie solves that problem and is easier and quicker to use than the factory cover. 5
