A: Yes, but it's not an ideal combination. Weight wise, yes, but zoomed to 300mm there's a moderate chance that you'll get some instability especially with lower shutter speeds. A support weight closer to 17 lbs. would be preferable.

A: From my getting use to the tripod I found it necessary, once any extension had been made, to securely rotate and then tighten the column or the tripod leg so it would hold its position.

A: Sorry, but the top plate is permanently attached and cannot be exchanged. The only detachable part is the Mini Arca-Swiss PMU25 plate and according to MeFoto's distributor, the Manfrotto plate probably will not fit in it's place.
