Made from a soft neoprene, this set of three Realtree MAX-5 LensCoat LegCape Wraps 506 Realtree MAX-5 Set of 3wrap around the upper part of your tripod's legs for protection as well as comfort when being handled. Using touch fasteners, the soft neoprene wraps are easily affixed to a tripod and create a thermal barrier to keep the tripod manageable, even in extremely hot or cold conditions. The wraps also provide protection from bumps and scratches. To ensure the best quality it is made in the USA.

This model is 6" long and is designed for tripods with leg diameters of 1.45-1.7", such as the Gitzo Series 4 and 5.

A: You can go to the product maker's website and when you click on LegCoat Wraps, it asks you to identity the make and model of your tripod. According to your tripod, it says you need LegCoat Wraps 312.

Q: 5. Will these fit the Gitzo 3542L tripod legs?

A: Lens coat specifies the 310 wraps are the correct ones. The 316 leg wrap is the same diameter, but at 16 inches long, might be a little too long. I would measure the length of the main leg tube, and get the wrap that comes closest, but is not longer than that measurement. I have ignored Lenscoat recommendations in the past and just made sure length and diameter were right and that has worked out well for me every time.

A: These typically run a bit big, sizing down would be prudent.

[Touch Fastener] These leg wraps are wonderful, they make carrying the tripod much more comfortable. Since they just wrap around and secure with velcro, I was concerned they'd slip down. Nope they stay very firmly in place, to the point that it is nearly impossible to even rotate them, much less slip down. 5

[0.35 lb] For anyone who is wondering if you really need this product, I have found that the biggest benefit is to protect your hands from the cold. I own a RRS TVC-24L tripod and worrying about dents isn't really a concern because it's carbon fiber and sturdy. However, during cold weather conditions, even handling carbon fiber tripod with your bare hands is extremely uncomfortable. I purchased these wraps to solve this specific problem and it does a very good job. One hand grips the leg wraps while the other works on collapsing the tripod. I get asked often in the field what these leg wraps are. The price is steep but after owning it for sometime, it’s definitely worth it. I’m assuming most people reading this review own a tripod which means you are probably a landscape photographer. This means that you will likely be exposed to cold weather very often (sunrise, sunset). Do yourself a favor and protect your own hands. My only feedback is that it would be nice if LensCoat custom built these Legwraps to span the entire column of the main leg to the twist locks. 5
