Osprey tech support is so helpful and knowledgeable, which is another huge selling point.
We have used numerous other manufacturers products (HaiVision, Evertz, Ensemble Design, and Lynx). All of them work fine but Osprey offered the best quality and reliability for the price.

It’s such a convenient tool for anyone working with SDI equipment but needing to connect to HDMI gear like monitors or computers. I’ve used it to convert SDI signals from a camera to my HDMI monitor, and it’s super easy...just plug in, and you're good to go. It has worked flawlessly for me.

What I appreciate most is how versatile it is. It supports up to 1080p60, so I’m getting crisp, broadcast-quality video every time. Plus, the SDI loop output is a fantastic bonus, letting me retain the option to still send out the signal SDI and not only HDMI. Or I can run it off my computer’s USB port, or any other device with a 5V USB output It’s nice to have that flexibility, especially on location. And I love that it has a little blue light to let you know it is receiving power and is on. That is good information to have, especially when on location.

Ran 100 feet of cable outside, into a coupler, and then
another 100 feet of cable inside to end point
BMD 6G-SDI to HDMI 4K unit.

It was raining that day and in the 40s outside.
I could not see any degradation in the audio or video.
Never lost signal even for a second.

I was sending hdmi video and analog audio over 3G-SDI cable.
Number 1 & 8 are up. Numbers 2-7 are down.


This was my first experience with SDI & BMD equipment.
