The cocoa Countryman B6 Omni Lavalier Mic for Audio-Technica Wireless Transmittersfrom Countryman B6 Omni Lavalier Mic for Audio-Technica Wireless Transmittersis a very small lav microphone measuring one tenth of an inch in diameter with changeable protective caps, which provide moisture resistance and color options. The mic can be used to capture audio for theater, broadcast, churches, and general lavalier applications.

Built with a low handling noise and rugged construction, the B6 lavalier microphone can be easily hidden in hair or on costumes, or taped to a performer's face. The aramid cable and ultra-thin diaphragm deliver a natural sound while its tiny size makes the B6 easy to position for ambient noise and feedback rejection. The B6's cable terminates to a Hirose 4-pin connector for direct connection to an Audio-Technica ATW-T1801, ATW-T27, ATW-T31, ATW-T51, ATW-T201, ATW-T210, ATW-T210a, ATW-T310, or ATW-T310b wireless bodypack transmitter for use with 200 Series, 1100 Series, 1400 Series, 1800 Series, 2000 Series, 2000A Series, 3000 Series, or 3000A Series wireless systems.

Additionally, swappable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or match other microphones. The B6 microphone is resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps. These caps can be quickly removed for cleaning or replacement.

Looks great when you want to see it, virtually disappears when you don't. The B6 is easily hidden in hair or on costumes, with five colors to match clothing, hair, and skin tones. Use a felt tip marker to color the white caps for near-perfect concealability. Never suffer the hassle and degraded sound quality of under-clothing miking again.

The B6 is resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps, and works well in hair or on the body. The protective caps are easily removed for cleaning or replacement, and the aramid-reinforced cable gives it world-class survivability.

The B6 provides high-quality audio with low distortion at SPL up to 140 dB on 48V phantom power. The aramid cable and thin diaphragm combine to offer low handling noise. The flat frequency response accurately captures voice or instruments, and the small size makes the B6 easy to position for ambient noise and feedback rejection.

Changeable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. Versions are available for different speaking or singing styles, with high overload capability for recording instruments.

Very low, mic near user's mouth.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. My beige head worn (ear loop) countryman mic started breaking up - static, etc. The problem was in the connection between the cable and the mic. I rotated the part of the connector at the cable back and forth about a half turn, and it made less noise and cleared up after a few turns. Does this connector release from the mic if it is pulled out, or is it not meant to disconnect? I would like to disconnect it if possible and spray the connections with CAIG D5 to clean the connection.

A: Yes, the Countryman E6 Earset Microphone does have a detachable cable. You can see the mic without the cable in the second photo and the cable is shown by itself in the fourth photo. The cable can be replaced if needed with the Countryman E6 & E6i Snap-on Replacement Microphone Cable (B&H # COE6CT1SR) which has a 3.5mm locking connector that is compatible for use with Sennheiser wireless bodypack transmitters. Countryman also offers replacement cables in different colors and with different connectors.

Q: 2. Can this be used without a camera? Can I record direct to my Mac using an Adobe Audition or Garage Band type application?

A: Yes if you have the adapter or interface for the Apple plug. I use the Tascam iXZ for Apple. You will also need an adapter to make it a 1/4 plug.

Q: 3. My camera audio inputs are XLR. What adapter is recommended to go from 3.5 mini to XLR? Does anyone make a camera mount XLR system?

A: I use a mini plug to xlr adapator I bought through B&H . Not very expensive. However i must say I was not happy with the mic provided with the system. I had to buy another the expensive mini mic. (269 or so) I also don't like that one unit is powered by 2 aa bateries and the other is rechargeable. I like systems where both are AA battery. Sony or Sure systems are better.

Q: 4. Is this version compatible with my Sennheiser ew 100 g3?

A: Yes, the Senal UTM-86-35H Lavalier Mic with 3.5mm Connector for Sennheiser & Senal Wireless Transmitters is compatible with the Sennheiser ew 100 ENG G3 Wireless Microphone.

Q: 5. Could you tell me which lav mic cpmes with it? Thanks in advance.

A: This system ships with the MT830cW lavalier. See the following link for more information: a href= http://bhpho.to/1BdG8NF target= _blank http://bhpho.to/1BdG8NF/a

Q: 6. I assume this should also work with an E6 TA4F microphone. Does anyone know for sure? I didn't know if each of them required different voltages. Thanks!

A: The first answer provided (Aug 14, 2018) seems incorrect. The E6, B6, and H6 microphones are electrically similar (Ref: https://countryman.com/microphone-wiring/). I would fully expect this unit to work with any of the three (with the TA4F connector).

Q: 7. Will the Countryman B6 4 pin connector work with this? a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/294426-REG/Countryman_B6W4FF05BAN_B6_Omnidirectional_Lavalier_Microphone.html target= _blank http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/294426-REG/Countryman_B6W4FF05BAN_B6_Omnidirectional_Lavalier_Microphone.html/a

A: Yes if the mic you are referring to matches up:Input Connections Four-pin locking connector: 4-Pin HRS ConnectorPin 1: GND, Pin 2: INST INPUTPin 3: MIC INPUT, DC BIAS +9 V

Q: 8. Will this Countryman E6 with 3.5mm locking connector work with any wireless transmitter that has a 3.5mm (1/8") input? For example, will it work with the Rodelink Filmmaker Wireless transmitters?

A: The locking 3.5mm connector on this Countryman mic is wired for Sennheiser, but it will work with the Rode Filmmaker transmitters. Sony wires their 3.5mm mics differently, so this will not work with Sony transmitters. Countryman has many version of their mic models to cover most manufacturer's wiring and technical specifications.

Q: 9. So what you're saying is the receiver has an internal battery that will need to be recharged? So it's useless until charged? Is the li-ion battery replaceable on the receiver? Please say it is.

A: This transmitter runs on 2x 1.5 V AA (not included). Standard alkaline or rechargeable AA cells may be used. The receiver portion includes a 3.7V rechargeable Li-ion battery that must be charged prior to use. it is not user replaceable.

Q: 10. Which Countryman E6 is best for clean, crisp SPOKEN WORD applications, which frequency?

A: This version in the W5 band is best for talking and spoken word only applications, BH #COE6OW5C2SL. Please note the version selected is in the color Cocoa, and is wired for in a ta4f connection for Shure wireless systems.

[Cocoa] very good

[Cocoa] Where to start? Size: The B3 is small enough to be inconspicuous as a lapel mic, and can be hidden in a tie knot or hair. Sound: silky, picks up voices wonderfully without dropping all the room noise. Reliability: the cord is well built, shrouded in a material slick enough to minimize noise. The only challenge I've had has been popping the cap off the top to use one of the two alternates. All in all, it's manufactured, engineered and packaged wonderfully.
