The Heliopan 86mm Circular Polarizer Filterhelps to reduce reflections and glare by filtering out light that has become polarized due to reflection from a non-metallic surface. This results in a noticeable increase in the saturation of skies and foliage, as well as clearer imagery when photographing in hazy conditions. A circular polarizer differs from a linear polarizer in that it supports full use of a camera's autofocus and auto exposure functions.

The SH-PMC multi-coating provides a total of 16 coatings, 8 per side, for significant reflection reduction (below 0.2%) as well as dust and moisture repellence for easier cleaning.

This Heliopan filter is constructed from Schott glass for increased optical clarity and color fidelity. It features a brass filter ring for durability as well as jamming prevention.

The V7-CPL for the V7 holder would only work with that holder. The V5-CPL would work with the V5 and V6 holders.

A: The main difference between the Multi-coated Heliopan 46mm Circular Polarizer and the 46mm High Transmission Circular Polarizer is the filter factor; the high transmission CP will have a filter factor of one stop, where the multi-coated has a factor of approximately 1.3 stops. Both filters feature index markings. The high transmission CP does not have a slim mount. Both filters have the same 16-layer coating, and are both produced from Schott glass.

[Multi Coated] Helipan filter is a must for my Leica Summicron 50mm APO ASPH lens. The prefect optics and has a number index allow mt to fine tune the sun reflect tone thought the filter. 5

[Brass] Excelent polarizer! But I use it with a Lee Filter Holder with 77mm filter holder adapter in a full frame camera. At 16mm it vinets with two filter slots in the holder, so i have to zoom a little my 16-35. Unfortunately a month back it fell down into the water and made a little scratch near de thread. But still works! And yes its made of brass, i can see the yellow in the metal after the fall. :) 5

[0.55 lb] As expected, Heliopan does not disappoint. The glass is excellent and the brass ring construction makes it almost impossible to cross-thread. This is the 'thick' variety which means it has outer threads so I can attach a lens cap. I own many Heliopan filters and adapter rings with absolutely no issues. 5

[Glass] I use this polarizer with Leica M 35mm lens, and wanted best glass from the polarizer filter so as not to degrade benefits of Leica glass. This slim design will allow the lens shade to be used (the regular size will not allow use of the shade). Best feature of this filter, especially with a rangerfinder system, is the index markings. I use as follows: (1) hold filter to my eye; (2) rotate to achieve the desired filter effect; (3) note the index mark; (4) attach the filter to the lens; and (5) adjust the index markings as viewed when held to my eye. The build quality feels great. 5

[0.55 lb] Purchased it for my Zeiss 15mm f/2.8 Distagon T* ZE Lens. Works great with no apparent vignetting, so is a good alternative to the more costly Zeiss polarizer alternative for that lens. 5
