The black Countryman B6 Omni Lavalier Mic for Lectrosonics Transmittersfrom Countryman B6 Omni Lavalier Mic for Lectrosonics Transmittersis a very small lav microphone measuring one tenth of an inch in diameter with changeable protective caps, which provide moisture resistance and color options. The mic can be used to capture audio for theater, broadcast, churches, and general lavalier applications.

Built with a low handling noise and rugged construction, the B6 lavalier microphone can be easily hidden in hair or on costumes, or taped to a performer's face. The aramid cable and ultra-thin diaphragm deliver a natural sound while its tiny size makes the B6 easy to position for ambient noise and feedback rejection. The B6's cable terminates to a 3-pin XLRM connector for direct connection to a Lectrosonics UH100, UH110, UH190, UH195, UH200, or UH200c wireless bodypack transmitter.

Additionally, swappable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or match other microphones. The B6 microphone is resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps. These caps can be quickly removed for cleaning or replacement.

Looks great when you want to see it, virtually disappears when you don't. The B6 is easily hidden in hair or on costumes, with five colors to match clothing, hair, and skin tones. Use a felt tip marker to color the white caps for near-perfect concealability. Never suffer the hassle and degraded sound quality of under-clothing miking again.

The B6 is resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps, and works well in hair or on the body. The protective caps are easily removed for cleaning or replacement, and the aramid-reinforced cable gives it world-class survivability.

The B6 provides high-quality audio with low distortion at SPL up to 140 dB on 48V phantom power. The aramid cable and thin diaphragm combine to offer low handling noise. The flat frequency response accurately captures voice or instruments, and the small size makes the B6 easy to position for ambient noise and feedback rejection.

Changeable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. Versions are available for different speaking or singing styles, with high overload capability for recording instruments.

Very low, mic near user's mouth.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will these work for the Zoom F2?

A: Yes, this Sanken COS-11D with the locking 1/8" (3.5mm) connector for Sennheiser transmitters (B&H # SAC11WNSETRB) will work when connected to the mic input on the Zoom F2.

Q: 2. Will it work with Zoom F1 Field Recorder?

A: Yes

Q: 3. Has anyone paired this with Diety Connect kit?

A: The COS-11D is compatible with the Diety Connect Kit and would sound amazing.

Q: 4. My beige head worn (ear loop) countryman mic started breaking up - static, etc. The problem was in the connection between the cable and the mic. I rotated the part of the connector at the cable back and forth about a half turn, and it made less noise and cleared up after a few turns. Does this connector release from the mic if it is pulled out, or is it not meant to disconnect? I would like to disconnect it if possible and spray the connections with CAIG D5 to clean the connection.

A: Yes, the Countryman E6 Earset Microphone does have a detachable cable. You can see the mic without the cable in the second photo and the cable is shown by itself in the fourth photo. The cable can be replaced if needed with the Countryman E6 & E6i Snap-on Replacement Microphone Cable (B&H # COE6CT1SR) which has a 3.5mm locking connector that is compatible for use with Sennheiser wireless bodypack transmitters. Countryman also offers replacement cables in different colors and with different connectors.

Q: 5. Which version do I need to buy to connect to the Tentacle Track E?

A: The version that is wired for Sennheiser transmitters is compatible for use with the Tentacle Track E. The Sanken COS-11D Omni Lavalier Microphone with Normal Sensitivity & 3.5mm Locking Sennheiser Connector (with Accessories, Black (B&H # SAC11WNSETRB) is the same mic with compatible wiring and the locking 3.5mm connector.

Q: 6. Sound devices a20

A: This Sanken COS-11D Omni Lavalier Microphone with Normal Sensitivity & LEMO 3-Pin Connector for Wisycom Transmitters may not work with the Sound Devices A20-Mini Digital Wireless Bodypack Transmitter and Recorder (B&H # SOA20MINI). The A20-Mini can be used with microphones that have a LEMO 3-pin connector wired for compatibility with Sennheiser transmitters such as the Sanken COS-11D Omni Lavalier Microphone with Normal Sensitivity & LEMO 3-Pin Connector for Sennheiser Transmitters (B&H # SAC11ANSELBE), which is the same microphone with the appropriate wiring configuration.

Q: 7. Since they don’t make a generic 3.5mm connector, can I cut off the Sony locking collar, and make it work on DSLR mic input?

A: The Sanken COS-11D Omni Lavalier Microphone with Normal Sensitivity & 3.5mm Locking Connector for Sony Transmitters will only work with Sony wireless transmitters. The wiring scheme used by Sony differs from that used by most other companies, but the Sennheiser 3.5mm connector is considered universal for nearly all non-Sony devices.

Q: 8. A few reviews speak of the mic only working with G3/G4's when it is half plugged in. Is that due to buying the wrong 1/8 connector, ie for a differerent make of transmitter? Or is there a compatibility problem with the Cos11D and the Sennheiser EW range.

A: I see only one review posted for this mic where the customer noted a problem with connection to his Sennheiser transmitter. Without seeing both the mic and transmitter to evaluate, it is difficult to determine whether the issue may have been due to a defective mic or a problem with the transmitter. In general, the COS-11D is one of the most popular lavalier mics for various broadcast, film, and performance applications. This particular version of the COS-11D is wired for compatibility with Sennheiser transmitters such as the SK 100 G3 and G4 for the EW series wireless systems. Along with the manufacturer's warranty, B&H does have a 30-day policy for returns. So if you do decide to purchase and have any problem with the mic, let us know right away and we can set up an RMA to return the mic for exchange or refund. Just be sure to save all of the original manufacturer's packaging and don't register the warranty until you decide it's a keeper.

Q: 9. Does this locking connector Sennheiser work with the RODE GO PRO?

A: The locking connector for the Sanken COS-11D Omni Lavalier Microphone with Normal Sensitivity & 3.5mm Locking Sennheiser Connector (with Accessories, Black), BH #SAC11WNSETRB, will work with a RODE Wireless GO II or the RODE wireless PRO.

Q: 10. What is the difference between the Reduced Sensitivity -9db and the Normal Sensitivity Sanken COS-11D LAV. Why would you want one over the other?

A: Unless you intend to use this lav is very high SPL situations, stick with the normal- otherwise you'll just end up adding more gain.
