Q: 9. Do the legs come out on their own (gravity) or dos the user have to open them manually (pull legs out)? Also, how good and easy are these twist locks? I prefer the clamp style, I fear these will take to long to adjust.

A: No current tripod should have legs that freely move; not only is it awkward, it can be dangerous to your fingers. This tripod has legs that stay in place and you need to move them. Twist or clamp; that is the external question. In the end it is a matter of personal preference. I find that pros tend to go with the twist. Today's twist locks are very quick, usually 1/2 turn or so and are not significantly slower than clamp locks. I also find that clamp levers get caught on every strap within a 10' radius. Miller is one of the high quality brands so you will find working with any of their products a pleasure.

Q: 10. How much does it weigh?

A: 2.5kg (5.5lbs)

[1.2 lb] At this price point this head is one of the best I've used. The leg system is all preference and these are amazing.

[1.2 lb] We have the Compass 20 but needed something smaller to travel with. This is lighter and shorter, but there doesn't seen to be much if any compromise on quality, strength, and stability. The max payload is a little lighter and there are a few less settings on the head. The legs are very strong.

[1.2 lb] light weight and really light the foam on the legs, much more comfortable when on the run.

[1.2 lb] The DS-10 is absolutely smooth. The panning is incredible for the light weight a DSLR provides. I have a rig that varies between about 8 and 12 lbs and the DS-10 balances it quickly perfectly. The fact that is raises up above my head is really nice too. I mount my SmallHD AC7 to the leg and can easily control the head and tall heights. And it goes down to like 8 inches making it just really flexible. It is a bit heavy though. The carbon fibre version was only a little less in weight and considerably more though. Overall just a really solid tripod/Fluid head and much nicer than my Manfrotto for buttery pans.

[1.2 lb] I bought this as a travel tripod for a documentary shoot in Europe last spring. The legs collapse down small enough to fit into my checked luggage and I am able to easily fit the Air head in my carry on camera case. All-in-all, it is a fairly lightweight, efficient and sturdy solution for creating buttery smooth pans and tilts, adjustable to a broad range of different heights to cover nearly any situation.Simply stated, the Miller Air makes shooting fun again and has easily become the preferred tripod in my collection. The quick setup time, its rock solid build quality, and the agility it provides to move around and grab a variety of shots in a timely manner makes this my go-to tripod for nearly every assignment. If you've ever used a Miller head, you'll feel right at home with the Air and the professional quality and precision it delivers. I use it regularly with my FS100, Sony SLTs and now my A7Rm2 rig and I couldn't be more pleased with the results!

[1.2 lb] i manage the equipment for a large production company that is often sending gear all around the world - these are hands down the most lightweight, durable and quality tripods - you may take some time getting used to the twist-locking legs as opposed to a quick release, but it's worth the adjustment because they just don't break used to buy sachtler and manfrotto - no longer

[1.2 lb] This tripod is super dope. Not small/lightweight enough for my tastes when operating out of a backpack, so I use it for local shoots. Love the fluid head so much I want to marry it.
