Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Our building can have upwards of 250 devices at a time to support for Internet access. Can this AP handle 250 devices at the same time?

A: The Ubiquiti Networks UAP-AC-HD-US Wave 2 Enterprise Wi-Fi Access Point can support up to 500+ users.

Q: 2. Does the 5 pack come with the Poe adapters?

A: Definitely not! Thats part of the cost savings

Q: 3. Do you have a estimated date the manufacturer will ship these to you?

A: I apologize, but this type of request cannot be taken care of through this feature of our website. Please contact our Customer Service department by entering Live Chat, emailing directly to cs@a href= http://bhphoto.com, target= _blank bhphoto.com,/a or calling us toll-free at 800.221.5743.

Q: 4. What's the differente AP-AC-HD to SHD?

A: The antennas on the AC-SHD have a gain of 6dbi each and the AC-HD only has 4dbi and 3dbi.

Q: 5. How long is the POE cable which connects this Unifi unit to the POE adapter?

A: The Ubiquiti Networks UAP-AC-LR-US 802.11ac Long Range Access Point BH #UBUAPACLRUS does not include any Ethernet cables. If you are referring to the power cord for the PoE injector, it is approximately 1.5'.

Q: 6. Any reason to get a AC-Pro instead of an AC-HD besides the cost? If I do not mind the cost, is the HD better? Using in a home.

A: For home use, the pro model is sufficient.

Q: 7. Does this come with a PoE injector?

A: The multi-packs do not include injectors, but the single units do.

Q: 8. Can I use this unit without the controller software running at all times?

A: Yes, the controller should be used only when sending settings to the unit. At my home, the controller is almost never used.

Q: 9. Which model of POE injector comes with the UAP-AC-HD to provide the PoE+ 802.3at / 48V, 0.5A power supply requirement?

A: Per Unifi's Quick Start Guide for this item, the included PoE injector is the Gigabit PoE* (48V, 0.5A) with Mount Bracket (white) which matches up with their SKU of "POE-48-24W-G" which matches up with our SKU of BH# BPOE4824WG. Per Ubiquiti's website, there is no white version of the PoE injector with those specs.

Q: 10. If I connected this to a typical Linksys router one might buy at such as a WRT1900AC, would it work?

A: Yes you can connect to any typical Linksys router just Bridge them together.

[Wall, Ceiling] After using off the shelf routers on a 100Mbps connection for many years, I've decided to treat myself with Gigabit Fios, fiber service. That's when I realize how inconvenient is having one billion bits per second delivered over a wire, but only getting a fraction of that over WiFi. So after doing my research, I decided to get myself a Ubiquiti UniFi AC HD (High Density). The UniFi AC HD is a high performing 4x4:4 access point powered by the best SoC that Qualcomm has to offer (QCA 9994), which is also found in the highest end enterprise grade solutions from Meraki and Ruckus, which cost $1,300 bare bone, but require additional licenses and subscriptions which add $thousands to the cost over the years. AC HD supports Multi-User MIMO (MU-MIMO), Transmit Beamforming, Hardware offloading on both 2.4 and 5GHz bands, super low latency, dedicated hardware offload for QoS, Guest control, etc. It's all controlled with the single pane of glass via UniFi Controller software. Because of it's vertical radial pattern it's highly recommended to mount the unit on the wall or ceiling, and avoid placing them flat on the desk or other surfaces. This also means that if you're looking for an access point that will cover extremely large surface and bleed into the outside areas, this probably isn't the right product for you. But if you're looking for the highest performing Wi-Fi access point delivering the ultra efficient and reliable connectivity to hundreds of devices, then this is absolutely the one to get. Oh, and finally my Wi-Fi speeds match that gigabit wired fiber connection.

[8] I have purchased these from other companies there were always issues w/ missing components (POE power) and required additional purchases and cost. NOT w/ B&H it's all in there!!!

Purchased again this week.

[WMM] B&H has become our go to vendor for a number of technology items, especially since the impact of the supply chain nightmare. They have 95% of what we need in stock, ship overnight and deliver a great experience. We have been working with them prior to Covid, but they have truly delivered great value during and since then. The best thing about working with B&H aside from the aforementioned.... they also have great prices. It's a no-brainer!!

[6 to 25 dBm] I upgraded my home/home business network to Ubiquity for greater throughput and consistency. Best decision I could have made. Everything has been perfect and stable. Very easy to set up, though this is not plug and play gear, you can do it, it's not terrible but there is some setup time.
The range on the AC-HD is not great, and must be ceiling mounted or it's downright abysmal. It's designed for high user numbers and throughput in a small space, not long range. If you want to cover a huge area I would look at the AC-LR or maybe get a couple of the newest Mini-HD. They came out a bit after I got this or that's what I'd have went with.

I had regular linknksis/netgear stuff before and was constantly bottle necked when working and streaming. Not anymore! It's also infinitely scalable, so if i need more range, or throughput I just need to add an AP. couldn't be happier, expensive upgrade but well worth it.

[4 GB] I replaced a Meraki MR26 with this UAP-AC-HD. I know, 802.11n vs 802.11ac. But the MR26 is a really nice, well-built AP by a leading enterprise manufacturer. Problem was, I kept having clients disassociate from it, coverage was okay, but not great, etc. Swapped in this UAP-AC-HD and it's been a night and day difference. Clients that used to disconnect and have issues streaming media, etc. now have zero issues and coverage is better. Throughput tests also show a marked improvement, but that's expected with 802.11n vs 802.11ac. Initial set up of a new Unifi Controller can take a little time (although the Cloud Key makes this really simple), but once your controller is set up adding new APs like this one is a breeze. Plug it in, click Adopt, done. Super easy setup. Stats provided via the controller are really helpful, provide easy to view charts/graphs, etc. Overall really great product at an unbeatable price point. Not missing anything after replacing my enterprise name brand wireless system.
