The tan Countryman B6 Omni Lavalier Mic for Sony Recordersfrom Countryman B6 Omni Lavalier Mic for Sony Recordersis a very small lav microphone measuring one tenth of an inch in diameter with changeable protective caps, which provide moisture resistance and color options. The mic can be used to capture audio for theater, broadcast, churches, and general lavalier applications.

Built with a low handling noise and rugged construction, the B6 lavalier microphone can be easily hidden in hair or on costumes, or taped to a performer's face. The aramid cable and ultra-thin diaphragm deliver a natural sound while its tiny size makes the B6 easy to position for ambient noise and feedback rejection. The B6's cable terminates to a 3.5mm locking connector for direct connection to a Sony PCM-M10 or PCM-D50 audio recorder (audio on left channel).

Additionally, swappable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or match other microphones. The B6 microphone is resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps. These caps can be quickly removed for cleaning or replacement.

Looks great when you want to see it, virtually disappears when you don't. The B6 is easily hidden in hair or on costumes, with five colors to match clothing, hair, and skin tones. Use a felt tip marker to color the white caps for near-perfect concealability. Never suffer the hassle and degraded sound quality of under-clothing miking again.

The B6 is resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps, and works well in hair or on the body. The protective caps are easily removed for cleaning or replacement, and the aramid-reinforced cable gives it world-class survivability.

The B6 provides high-quality audio with low distortion at SPL up to 140 dB on 48V phantom power. The aramid cable and thin diaphragm combine to offer low handling noise. The flat frequency response accurately captures voice or instruments, and the small size makes the B6 easy to position for ambient noise and feedback rejection.

Changeable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. Versions are available for different speaking or singing styles, with high overload capability for recording instruments.

Low, head miking for theater.

Q: 5. What's the difference between the b40 and b03 body pack?

A: The Sony UTX-B40 Wireless Bodypack Transmitter with Omni Lavalier Mic improves upon the UTX-B03 with a slightly smaller form factor, improved battery compartment, and fast, easy frequency setting with NFC Sync.

Q: 6. Can I pair with Senheisser MKE2?

A: I'm sorry, but Sennheiser does not make a version of the MKE2 with the correct wiring for this transmitter.

Q: 7. Not really sure when they say M series. I have Lectro UM200c, will this work with my transmitter?

A: Yes. Just be sure to order it wired for lectrosonics, TA5F. Nice combo. You'll live it!

Q: 8. To be used hidden on clothes for film, do i need Standard or low sensitivity?

A: Mic sensitivity is related to how much gain you have to give the mic. A low sensitive mic would need more gain sent to it to get a good audio level, and is used for live stage use, or in a loud environments. The real issue you have to deal with when hiding a mic on clothes is keeping the head of the mic away from fabric rubbing on it. I would suggest a standard gain mic, and then utilize mic mounting solutions, such as the Bubblebee Industries Invisible Lavalier Microphone Covers, BH #BUBBIILC30. or the Remote Audio Foamies Foam Mounts for Lavalier Microphones (Set of 12, White), BH #REUFOAMIEWH. These products will protect the mic, and when properly placed on the talent, can provide the best sound, minus the clothing rubbing.

Q: 9. Is this transmitter compatible with the receiver that comes with the Sony PXW-X400 camera? DE-15/DB-15 (Wireless Receiver)

A: The Sony UTX-B40 Wireless Bodypack Transmitter with Omni Lavalier Mic is only compatible with UWP series receivers operating on the same frequency range.

Q: 10. Can I use the Countryman B3 connected to a sony uwp-d11?

A: Only if it was wired for Sony. Although the 3.5mm connector for the Sony looks like your standard jack that you see on Sennheiser systems, it is actually wired differently, and you cannot swap them for each other.

[Tan] Love the skinny cable and tiny mic on this lav. The carrying case is great, along with all the different response caps. Really warm, natural tones, my new favorite!
