[DC / AC] Radio works great, sounds good, is a nice size, uses easy to find batteries (or just plug it into the wall), and pulls in lots of stations. I kind of knew what I expected from this radio and read the reviews, but honestly it pleasantly surprised me as I found it even better than expected. It surpasses the needs I had for buying it. It seems well made and I hope it will last.

[Analog] I have been an AM radio listener for over 60 years. Back in the 1960's most American-made radios were made with pride, lasted forever and sounded great. This Sony radio is a throwback to those old machines. The sound is terrific, with little static, even in normally electronically noisy areas that challenge radios such as the Sangean models. Yes, pre-tuning buttons would be nice, but the tuning light on the front makes finding stations easy. The knobs are all tight and the overall build quality seems good. The FM reception is crisp and clear as well.

[2.235 lb] My first radio at 11 years old, 56 years ago, was a Sony. It performed wonderfully for over 20 years before being lost in a move. I was so pleased to recently discover Sony still makes portable, no non-sense portable radios with basic features, excluding all the unnecessary bells and whistles. I've had my new Sony portable radio for 2 months now and I can say the original quality standards that were so impressive over half a century ago continue to be instilled in their products. Very Highly Recommended !

[Analog] After researching various available brands and previously owning Sony radio's of this type in the past, I chose to go with the Sony ICF-506 and am again happy with my purchase.
