A: Yes, there is an 8-pin power connector on the back of the SmallHD 703 Monitor.

Q: 3. Exactly how does this mount on Nikon Z8 camera and what kind of transmitter is required to connect to the Z8?

A: The SmallHD 703 UltraBright On-Camera Monitor is not sold with a mount, so you would need to purchase one separately. As for which one to get, that depends on where you want to mount the monitor to, and which kind of mounting support you have for your camera. If you want to mount directly to the Z8 the only option you have is the cold shoe on top or the 1/4"-20 tripod threading on the bottom. I recommend using the Axler AA-7 Recodo Articulating Arm (7"), BH #AXAA7. As for transmission, you would need a wireless transmission system like the Teradek Bolt 6 XT 750 12G-SDI/HDMI Wireless RX/TX Deluxe Kit (Gold Mount), BH #TE102300G.

Q: 4. Do I need a transmitter or anything else to use this? How does it connect to the camera?

A: Yes you will need a transmitter to wirelessly send video to the SmallHD703.

Q: 5. How easy is it to switch monitor brightness? I believe one won't need all that brightness for indoor use.

A: It is very east to adjust the backlight brightness.

A: Yes, the SmallHD 2-Pin LEMO to D-Tap Power Cable (36") is included with this monitor.

Q: 7. Does this connect via the proprietary ports in the back of the monitor or do you need to use the ptap port?

A: The SmallHD Battery Plate uses a Molex connector on the back of the monitor.

Q: 8. Is this new or used??

A: This is a new unit sealed from the manufacture.

[3.5 oz / 99.2 g] If you have a SmallHD 503/703 this is a must have. The plate is very secure mounted on the back and since it's an Anton Bauer brand gold mount you know it's reliable. It's very easy too attach and mounts flush to the back. There is one D-Tap port on it and one pig tail on the inside that attaches to the back port of the monitor for power deliver. When using this plate the monitor can actually show battery voltage on the screen (if that setting is on). When using the included Lemo to D-Tap power cable that voltage feature isn't available. Since this plate adds almost no weight and very little thickness this will just live on my 703 for whenever I need it. If you ever need your 503/703 to be completely wireless for a shoot outside or in a handheld setup this is a must have item. 5

[0.23 lb] I think this is a must have if using the 703 as a director or AC monitor. The 703 by default does not come with a built in plate, so I was using a p-tap cable for power. This gold mount plate makes the kit way more compact and usable. Combined with a Gold/V-mount Teradek unit, makes for a compact, easy to put together kit. 5
