Enhance your covert and intelligence operations using the Newcon Optik SENTINEL LRF 640 Thermal Rangefinder Bi-Ocular. This versatile device combines high-resolution thermal imaging and laser range-finding capabilities. Designed as a bi-ocular optic, it reduces fatigue by allowing you to conduct observations with both eyes. Its 640 x 512 uncooled sensor, combined with wide field optics, allows you to view a thermal profile of the scene at a 9 Hz refresh rate, and detect and recognize targets and their activity at ranges up to 1.86 miles. This infrared camera is enhanced with a built-in 1.55µm eye-safe laser rangefinder and a compass, delivering precise target distance, azimuth, and elevation to the internal display. In addition, the bi-ocular generates a video output in NTSC or PAL formats that can be delivered to an external monitor or a recording device. To provide years of service and to withstand challenging conditions and adverse weather, this thermal rangefinder is outfitted with a durable, waterproof housing that is ergonomic and provides a standard 1/4"-20 socket for mounting on a tripod for long-term observations. It also offers eyepieces with diopter adjustments and rubberized eyecups.

          Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this AGM Varmint TS35-384 new, or is it used/refurbished? (Strange question- Doesnt specify. I have been burned before.)

A: Yes, the AGM Varmint LRF TS35-384 Thermal Imaging Riflescope with 35mm Lens (50 Hz) is new. All items are new unless specifically stated otherwise.

Q: 2. Does the camera run with a separate Software or it's possible to operate without?

A: Complete Viewing Software: There are many ways to access the camera's features: using a web browser, with the Bosch Video Management System, with the free-of-charge Bosch Video Client or Video Security Client, with the video security mobile app, or via third-party software.

Q: 3. Will this fit on an Leonardo AW189

A: The FLIR 640 x 480 T840 Thermal Imaging Camera with DFOV 14/24° Lens BH #FL892120101 does not feature a built-in bracket or mounting option.

Q: 4. Is the underarm strap removable if you don't want to use it?

A: Yes, you can remove the under arm strap, the splits in the clasp allow you to remove it from the pad.

Q: 5. This comes with a mount correct?

A: The AGM Varmint LRF TS50-384 Thermal Imaging Riflescope with 50mm Lens (50 Hz) does not come with a mount.

Q: 6. The strap holds the heavy camera at one point only. Will the camera strong enough to have all the weight at one point only?

A: According to the manufacturer it was tested to hold over 100kg or 220lbs. If you have a large lens attached you might want to attach the strap to the lens and not the camera strap eyelets.

Q: 7. Is the underarm strap really of any benefit?

A: Yes it keeps the strap from rolling forward and backwards, but if it is not comfortable for the way you use your camera, you can remove it if need be.

Q: 8. Coming from a Peak Design system, could this sling strap be fitted with AL-4 anchor link(s)?

A: You could remove the D rings and attach the Peak Design AL-4 anchor system, however, the release system on the RucPac Sentinel Camera Strap is just as secure as AL-4.

Q: 9. does the strap have to be attached to the one screw point on the bottom of the camera or can it be attached to where the manufacture neck strap attaches?

A: You can attach the strap to the 1/4 thread on the bottom given you put the adapter. the strap comes without the adapter but it be wise not to do it.

Q: 10. What is the largest caliber it is safe to use on

A: The AGM Rattler TC35-640 Thermal Imaging Clip-On is rated up to .308.

[75 mm] I have been using night vision devices for many years now so I decided to upgrade to a thermal device. Well I finally saved up and purchased the ATN ThOR 640 4x-40x and it has changed the way we hunt predators. The reliability and features on this scope are amazing from taking pictures and videos to the smart range finder, and being able to store different setups in the scope allowing it to be moved to different rifles. The best part of this scope is not on the scope itself, but with customer service. You have a customer for life.

[25 mm] This is an excellent thermal unit with specific abilities. The protective case is filled with everything you need to mount it to a helmet/head harness, clip to a picatinny or scope on a .556/.223 (or smaller), or to use as hand-held. It includes one CR123A battery and even includes a rechargeable CR18650 battery if you are willing to use an included battery compartment extension tube.

The unit is waterproof, has multiple color settings, an internal compass, and optional reticle. You can purchase an additional flip-away picatinny mount if the included fixed mount is not to your liking. The fixed or flip-away allows for it to be mounted in front of a LPVO for night use, but it does not really work with a holographic sight due to eye-relief distances.

After looking at the pricing and use limitations of dedicated thermal scopes, this device hit the right spot for multi-platform use.

[<50 mK at f/1.0] Item ordering process was very elementary and the items were super quick to arrive in two days. I have read the manual and applied the processes to operate the scope. Everything so far is great. I have yet to mount it on my rifle and zero, but I have used the unmounted scope at night and it operates flawlessly. Very satisfied at this point.

[640 x 512] I have both the AGM StingIR640 & Iray MH25. The AGM overall seems like the better unit, it's lighter, have better manu control and the image quality and screen seems just a bit better. There is an battery extension included that allows you to use 18650 battery and that's a big advantage ! The Iray has an option for a similar extension but it's not provided and cost close to $100 for a small cheap peace of aluminum. Between the two units the screen on Iray appears larger but that's due to the magnification lense, the AGM is a lot closer to true 1x but the screen seems a bit smaller through the optic. The AGM got option for crosshair so you can mount the optic as stand alone thermal sight and that's a huge benefit for me. Overall I think the AGM is a fantastic unit with many useful features.

[<50 mK at f/1.0] I went from a 4K Pro to Thor. Amazing. The zeroing process is more challenging because it is thermal. I also mounted a abl 1000 to the scope. They work together very well.

[75 mm] We have used the scope for deer and hogs. It was clear and the range finder worked as promised. The X-Track makes it easier to scroll through the menus with both hand on the rifle.

[Bi-Ocular] I looked at units costing twice this much and am so glad i chose the StingIR. The resolution is amazing and the light weight is remarkable. I'm not much for cliche's but this is a win-win.

[NTSC, PAL] I have taken the unit on two hunts - so far - it has performed flawlessly. The image is clear. I have also done some daytime hunting with this since it has cooled off and once again it has performed flawlessly. I would recommend it to anyone. The only issue I have encountered is downloading the firmware update. I was able, evidently, to get the update onto the micro SD card. When it was reinstalled into the scope (closely following the directions) the upload function prompt never happened. It works great without the upgrade though!

[640 x 512] Sighted it in at 50yrd with no issues... shooting sub 2 inch groups with bulk ammo on a .308. Taking her out to the field for the first time this week end. Hogs and Coyotes don't have a chance.
