    Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this work with both Canon/Nikon flashes? Also will this fit into Custom Bracket CB Folding-T? Thank you.

A: Yes, this will work with both Canon and Nikon flashes. You can use it with the Custom Bracket CB Folding T.

Q: 2. How do I find out the size of the thread on my tripod head to determine which shoe mount to get?

A: Virtually all tripod heads are 1/4"-20. If a camera screws on, then it is 1/4"-20.

Q: 3. How do I determine the size of the bottom mounted thread?

A: This product has a 1/4"-20 Threaded Bottom Mount. That is a standard size for accessories.

Q: 4. Is Vello BH #VECS MFR #CS cold shoe mount conducive to electricity?

A: The Vello Universal Accessory Shoe Mount is made of anodized aluminum alloy and is not conductive unless the surface is marred to expose the aluminum underneath.

Q: 5. Is this controller compatible with any Impact receiver? ...Similar to how Pocketwizard is.

A: No, it is not. At the time of this reply, the Impact Venture Wireless Controller with Canon Shoe is specifically designed for use with the Impact Venture TTL 600 Monolight, and will not work with any other Impact radio receiver currently in our inventory.

Q: 6. Am using Profoto Air Remote in manual mode with my Fujifilm GFX. IT's gret as universal to most brands. There isn't a Venture trigger for Fujifilm GFX. I don't need TTL, how would I trigger the Venture 600 with Fujifilm GFX. What trigger would I have to get?

A: You have a few options. If you already own two (2) Profoto Air Remote Transceivers, you can have one connected to your camera's hot shoe while connecting the second to the 1/4 phone sync terminal of the Impact Venture TTL-600 Battery-Powered Monolight by using either the Profoto Male 1/4 Phono to Male 3.5mm Miniphone Cable - 11.8 , B&H # PRPMMPM , or the more economical Impact Sync Cord Male Mini to Male Phono (16 ), B&H # IMMMPM16. This would work the same as your current system, with the only main difference being you would not be able to control the light's output power or modeling lamps from the on-camera transmitter; you would have to set the light output manually on the Impact Venture monolight fixture. The other option would be to purchase the Impact Venture Wireless Controller with Nikon Shoe and simply use the remote in manual mode (as TTL mode would not be compatible with your camera). This should still allow you to control the flash output power from the on-camera transmitter.

Q: 7. can this mount a rhode mic?

A: It would depend on which Rode microphone you own or are considering purchasing as to if the above Vello Universal Accessory Shoe Mount would support your microphone. If the microphone you are considering has a cold shoe camera mount on the bottom of the microphone, then yes, it would be compatible for use with your equipment. If you can give us the model number of the Rode microphone in question, we can give you a more definite inquiry.

Q: 8. Will the Venture Wireless controller trigger the Impact PowerSync 16-80?

A: No, it will not. The Impact Venture Wireless Controller is specifically designed for use with the Impact Venture TTL-600 Battery-Powered Monolight. It is not compatible for use with the Impact PowerSync 16-80 Transceiver.

Q: 9. Does this come with a mounting screw?

A: The RPS Lighting Adjustable Accessory Shoe does not include a 1/4 20 mounting screw.

    Q: 10. Will this work w/later Sony Multi-interface feet?

A: Yes, this would work for the Sony Multi-Interface foot.

[0.05 lb] The user manual that comes with it is very simple and to the point. You will have it all figured out in 5 minutes and be ready to start shooting. I love mine and mounted the light on light on my trip to shoot macro in the garden. Yes I would recommend this product.

[2.4 GHz] The light is very easy to use straight out of the box. I ended up mounting it on my tripod so o could shoot macro shots at F 22 in the garden. The instruction manuals that come with it are very much to the point. So with in 10 minutes you know all there is to know and are shooting. I would highly recommend this product you will love it.

[Sony Auto-Lock] Unlike other cold shoes listed on this site, this one does not have its own fiddling locking mechanism. Instead, it relies on your flash's built in lock, which is exactly what I wanted. It works and behaves just like the plastic flash stand that came with my flash, except it has nice brass threads for a mounting securely to light stands. Like others have mentioned, the item I received is slightly different than pictured, but in a good way. Instead of being made of metal as pictured, the base of the shoe is plastic (good for protecting from shorts), and has a locking-pin hole. I've attached pictures of the shoe as I received it.

[2x AAA] These flash shoes provide a tight mount, i trust them with my 600ex flash more than some of the other products i've used with off camera flash.

[2.4 GHz] The picture that accompanies this product is not exactly accurate. It has metal bracket 'arms', but the base area (where the speedlite contacts are made) is totally plastic. The image shows metal with a plastic 'safety' area so your speedlite doesn't short out, I guess. This is affordable and gets the job done 100%. I honestly can't see how other similar products cost any more than this one. If you're just looking for a 1/4-20 thread to cold shoe adapter, this is it. I haven't used it long or in-the-field yet, but I can't imagine anything going wrong...there isn't much to it.

[2x AAA] I agree with the previous reviewer that the product is not exactly as pictured. Nonetheless, it is extremely sturdy and functional. The metal top is obviously well secured in the plastic; and the 1/4 socket on the bottom is solid brass, not plastic. And the plastic used in this product seems to be ultra-hard, maybe like cycolac. A bonus for Nikon Speedlite owners is that it has the pin-locking hole so that your Speedlite is securely fastened. Looking at a number of products, I tried it because of the price. Then, liked it so much, I bought a bunch more. Use them on all my flash mounts: light stands, mini-tripods, several different homemade off-camera handheld flash holders, as well as an Arca-Swiss tripod mount. Love it! Does the job for my SB-800 & 600 units. Why pay more?

[2x AAA] Have Graflex camera with Schneider-Kreuznach lens but no cold foot flash attachment. Using the Nish flash shoe attachment I was able to adapt camera for a more modern flash - works like a charm.

[Sony Auto-Lock] Holds the flash foot snugly which is good in case I forget to lock it. Looks old fashioned, but well made.
