The Serpent Audio SB4001 500 Series Stereo Bus Compressorfrom Serpent Audio SB4001 500 Series Stereo Bus Compressoris a quad VCA based compressor, and can be used for either stereo or mono applications. It can be used for gain reduction and is suitable for a number of signal types and musical applications. This stereo compressor has six Ratios, ten Attack Times, High Pass/Boost/Slope Sidechain Filters, Wet/Dry Blend Control, External (Key) Input, Classic Stepped Release Settings, Classic and Alternate Auto Release, Variable Release Control, and "Grind" Mode (a valve style harmonic drive adding vintage color).

A: Yes. The Warm Audio BUS-COMP 2-Channel VCA Bus Compressor does have switchable voltage settings. There is a voltage switch on the back that allows you to select either 115 or 230V.

Q: 8. Does this product test combination wires ? example rca to 1/4, or xlr to 1/2 inch ?

A: We have one of these at my work, it'll test any combination. Just yesterday I was checking a mixer for a blown xlr lead... Long story short I used an rca cable to feed to the mixer and an xlr on the receiving end and it tested each pin, actually two grounded to eachother because the Rca isn't a balanced cable... Long story short it will check combination cables. Thinking of getting one for myself because it's a wicked solid investment and built extremely well especially for the price. Cheers!

Q: 9. Is this compatible with a Panasonic HC-V750?

A: The basic answer is yes. This microphone is compatible with the 3.5mm audio input jack on that model according to the specs on this website. As for mounting, I cannot say. I've only mounted this mic on a stand.

Q: 10. I have a BPHS1 that came with an 4 pin XLR female cable. I'm trying to get it to run into a Zoom H6 handy recorder. Is there an adapter that can do 4 pin XLR male to 3 pin XLR male for use with the Zoom? Will I be able to record with the microphone and hear through the headphones?

A: The 4-pin version of the broadcast headset is for a communications system. The best and most cost effective solution is to change out the cable with the appropriate model, which is the Audio-Technica BPCB1 Replacement Cable for BPHS1, BH #AUBPCB1. The headphone connection would then need to be adapted for the Zoom H6, with a Hosa Technology GMP112 Male Stereo 3.5mm Mini to Female Stereo 1/4" Phone Adapter, BH #HOASMMSPF.

[Compressor] I don't think one can beat this compressor, especially at this price. The designers aced the features and engineering created a product that does its job quietly, smoothly and highly effectively. The output gain control is great for restoring any overall signal level lost during compression. You can't go wrong with the RNC1773. Kudos too, to B & H: Customer service was able to add some cables effortlessly after my order was placed and before shipping. 5

[1.7 lb] This compressor punches way above its weight (considering the cost). Great unit for subtle, clean compression. I use mine to ‘glue together’ the final mix in Really Nice mode. 5

[1.7 lb] Killer quality and sound. It definitely widens the stereo field a bit. The transformer button wont be for everyone. I tried it on the 2 track and didnt like it, but gave it a go on the bass buss and yeah dude big time. 5

[+8 dBu] The WA76 is not supposed to sound exactly like the modern UA 1176LN as another review has highlighted. The WA76 is an exact replica of the Urei 1176 revision D that was produced in the early 1970s. The current UA 117LN is an amalgamation of revisions C, D, & E. These revisions have minor differences in circuitry dealing with low noise and distortion. The WA76 and UA 1176LN are essentially the same beast, but since they are produced with slightly different circuitry designs, one will hear very subtle sonic variations between the two. Which one you like more is a matter of preference. 5
