The Gitzo GT4543LS Systematic Series 4 Carbon Fiber Tripodfrom Gitzo GT4543LS Systematic Series 4 Carbon Fiber Tripodis a high capacity carbon fiber tripod that represents the ultimate goals of the Systematic lineup—minimal weight, durability, and uncompromising stability. The Series 4 tripods provide a balance of size and sturdiness with a larger top casting than the Series 3.

Within the Series 4 line the GT4543LS is given the "Long" designation as it can extend from a minimum height of 3.9", to a maximum height of 62.2", all while maintaining an impressive weight capacity of 61.7 lb. Incorporating Gitzo's patented carbon eXact tubing, the GT4543LS sports maximum rigidity while keeping its weight to an absolute minimum. Weighing just 5.2 lb allows the tripod it be easily carried or transported in the studio or out in the field. It's folded length of just 24.0" makes storing or travelling with the tripod easy and convenient.

The Systematic line also features an array of unique, patented, and useful features which set a standard for professional quality. The key design element of the series is the use of Gitzo's Carbon eXact tubes which are extremely rigid despite their lightweight design. [Carbon Fiber] As long as I have rope I can be sure I have something to tie it to if I need to rescue someone. This tripod is super sturdy. I use it with a gimbal 600/F4 and its steady as a rock. The low ground clearance is nice too, and the pivoting feet are a nice touch to make that low setup more sturdy. I would add a set of spiked feet, and would prefer that it came with those as a second set rather than the the other set of rubber feet that is included. Setup and tear down is easy, smooth and reliable. If you want to switch apex plates that is a breeze too and is tool-less. All around a great tripod. 5

[3/8"-16 Male] The GT4543LS is sturdy and matches my Sigma 150-600mm Sports/Nikon D750 perfectly. A beautiful and practical tripod. In bird photography, shooting with big/heavy lenses at 600mm (900mm with crop body), any vibration will kill the shot. Though a series 3 tripod may sufficed for my current set up, decided to go for a series 4. The solid construction is likely to last for years and a series 4 will be able to accommodate a 600mm prime and pro body, if I were to upgrade in the near future. Two thumbs up for the GT4543LS! 5

[3 Positions] I use this Gitzo Series 4 tripod for landscape, nightscape, and astrophotography. This is the most stable tripod I have ever used. The carbon fiber leg sections are THICK. I take it with me to the most remote, hot, sandy, dirty places in search of unique scenery and dark skies. It has held up remarkably well under such harsh conditions. I'm 6'1" and this tripod extends to a perfect height in which I don't have to contort my body to see through my viewfinder. The base clamps down tight and the included rubber feet provide excellent vibration dampening. The bubble level on the base is perfectly positioned and easy to read. ASTROPHOTOGRAPHERS: This tripod was a total game changer for my portable astrophotography rig. I travel long distances to seek out the most remote locations I can find to avoid astro image-ruining light pollution. This hobby requires the use of quite a few different components, and the combined weight of everything really adds up. My Gitzo Series 4 tripod easily supports the weight of my Nikon D810, MB-D12 battery grip, RRS L-plate, ball head, Star Adventurer 2i Pro tracker, ZWO guide camera and scope, ASIAir Pro, and ANY lens I choose to use. With this setup, I shoot 5, 10, even 15-20 minute night sky exposures at a lower ISO (less noise) yielding images with pinpoint sharp stars (no trails) and mindblowing color detail. I can confidently adjust my camera position without severely throwing off my polar alignment and having to start the process over. I have not been compensated in any way for writing this review, I just felt compelled to share my experience with this wonderful product. I strongly recommend this tripod. 5

[3/8"-16 Male] I upgraded from my old Gitzo Mountaineer to this slightly taller and MUCH more rigid model and won't look back! Using RRS BH-55 on top with my Nikon D850, which is both heavy and vibrates quite a bit. I tested with a 300mm and get very good performance with the VR in Active mode without mirror locked up. The feet are great, but I think only suitable for hard surfaces, so I use the spike feet outdoors. 5

[7 lb] I needed a very stable and sturdy tripod to support long lens wildlife and astrophotography gear. I initially considered the GT3543LS and GT3543XLS but found the former to be a little too low as I am 6'3" tall. The GT3543XLS extends to a very high 88.5" but folds up just a little too long for me to travel with. I stepped up to this model, the GT4543LS, which, when fully extended, is a perfect height for me. It also adds even more stability without a whole lot of additional weight over the 3 Series. Highly recommended for those seeking the highest quality, stability, and vibration resistance. 5
