The Gitzo GT3533LS Systematic Series 3 Carbon Fiber Tripodfrom Gitzo GT3533LS Systematic Series 3 Carbon Fiber Tripodis a high capacity carbon fiber tripod that represents the ultimate goals of the Systematic lineup—minimal weight, durability, and uncompromising stability. The Series 3 tripods are optimal for traveling light but with extremely sturdy support, especially for those who prefer to work without a center column or need enhanced modularity.

Within the Series 3 line the GT3533LS is given the "Long" designation as it can extend from a minimum height of 4.3", to a maximum height of 59.8", all while maintaining an impressive weight capacity of 61.7 lb. Incorporating Gitzo's patented carbon eXact tubing, the GT3533LS sports maximum rigidity while keeping its weight to an absolute minimum. Weighing just 4.5 lb allows the tripod it be easily carried or transported in the studio or out in the field. It's folded length of just 26.4" makes storing or travelling with the tripod easy and convenient.

The Systematic line also features an array of unique, patented, and useful features which set a standard for professional quality. The key design element of the series is the use of Gitzo's Carbon eXact tubes which are extremely rigid despite their lightweight design. The carbon tubing is complimented by Gitzo's G-Lock Ultra twist-locks which maintain stable, solid connections between leg sections and prevent joint damage by blocking out dirt, dust, and moisture. Each leg on the tripod features a 50mm rubber articulating foot, providing a stable and versatile base for setting the tripod on most surfaces. If required, the feet may be removed and replaced with optional metal spikes for increased stability in sand, dirt, mud, snow, and ice. The base of the tripod also features a 3/8"-16 Easy Link attachment thread, allowing the user to connect a variety of accessories to the tripod including magic arms, shoe adapters, LED lights, monitors, and more.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will the Gitzo Series 3 lay almost flat for shooting close to the ground?

A: The Gitzo GT3533LS Systematic Series 3 Carbon Fiber Tripod (Long) has a minimum height as low as 4.3 inches.

Q: 2. what is folded length with spike foot instead of articulating foot?

A: Unfortunately this is not something we are able to determine here.We would recommend contacting Manfrotto for this specification.

Q: 3. Are spiked feet an option for this Gitzo model?

A: Yes, you can view them on our website by clicking the link below; https://bhpho.to/2KIAWej

Q: 4. My Benro geared head doesn't fit on the mounting plate. Is there a way to make that work with an accessory?

A: In theory, it should screw on without issue. There is likely more to the problem and we would recommend to reach out via virtual live-chat and we can video conference to help you solve your issues!

Q: 5. At what looks to be nearly 60” when extended and before a mount, do you find it to be “to tall” once camera is mounted? (I’m 5’10”). And if you have thoughts on backpack transportability of this unit it would be appreciated.

A: At full extension with a head and camera, the Viewfinder might be a little higher than your eye, but the height is adjustable so no problem getting it perfect for you height. With regard to backpacking with it, its folded length is 26.4". With a head attached that would exceed 30". . . . a little long for a long trek.

Q: 6. Can I attach my benro g2 gimbal directly or will I need a leveling head

A: You can attach Benro GH2 Aluminum Gimbal Head directly to Gitzo GT3533LS tripod. To level you can just raise or lower two of the legs of the tripod.

Q: 7. is there a center column on this tripod? Will it work with an RRS BH-40 ball head ?

A: No, there is no center column on this tripod. Yeap, it would work well with the BH-40 ballhead. I'd also consider the BH-55 if you're not averse to the size difference between them.

Q: 8. Can the articulating feet that come with this be removed and replaced with the old style runner feet that used to come on earlier versions of this tripod, or can they only be replaced with the spiked feet?

A: The tripod comes packaged with the older style feet and they can replace the articulating feet. Unfortunately the product description does not state this, but you do get the regular tripod feet with it.

Q: 9. Will this fit 75mm ball heads?

A: Yes, the GT5533L can accept heads with a 75mm base.

Q: 10. Can the Gitzo GT 3533 LS be used with the Wimberley WH -200 Gimbal Tripod Head ll when mounted with the AFS Nikon 600 mm ED VR Lens?

A: Yes, it would make a good tripod for birding/wildlife. Depending on your needs, you could also consider a series 4, which would be heavier but also slightly stiffer. https://bhpho.to/2YySIYP

[3/8"-16 Male] Using with a RRS BH-55 and a Wimberly Sidekick for my Nikon D500 and various lenses. Tripod is rock solid when using the gimbal and my 200-500, or on the beach doing long exposures.

[3/8"-16 Male] Best tripod I've ever owned! The tripod with the Really Right Stuff BH-55 ball head is the perfect setup for a heavy duty tripod! Couldn't be any happier with this tripod. NOTE: I originally ordered the Systematic Series 5 Gitzo but had to return it as it was too large. I couldn't see myself carrying the Series 5 but this Series 3 is perfect when I want a large tripod.

[Carbon Fiber] This is our third set of Gitzo tripod legs and they are by far the most stable and rugged set of carbon fiber tripod legs that we have used. We are still using the first set that we purchased 15 years ago.

[6.9 lb] This is an excellent tripod: very steady, the extra length is very good for photographers 6' and over, and reasonably light. The fact that the three legs meet at the top and there is no central post makes it more steady. The 3 series perhaps is not as strong and steady as the 5 series but the lighter weight is a plus if you are carrying it on a photography treck over your shoulder and it is very very steady. Not cheap but it should last a lifetime and you will be glad you have it.

[3/8"-16 Male] The tripod is fantastic, very sturdy, stable, balanced, and precise. The instructions are inadequate at best and barely give you information. The instructions are not as well translated as they could be using phrases like anti-clockwise (which is an actual usage) rather than the more accepted and commonly used counter-clockwise.

[3/8"-16 Male] Yes we all have heard the stories of over-priced, and several other comments. But have you tried one out for yourself? This Gitzo is taking over from a Benro... big difference all the way around. Hands-down - Gitzo.

[3/8"-16 Male] I upgraded from a cheap bonfoto carbon travel tripod. This thing is a beast. So solid, not flex. It won’t be easy for travel, but i really only got it for local trips where space isn’t an issue.

[Removable] While I have not actually used this tripod yet, it seems very solid and stable. The legs extend well and open up easily. 2 caveats though. The set screw on the base for locking the camera is secured with Loctite and I cannot budge it. No problem as the base plate hugs my ball head well. Also, those strange feet, are great on level surfaces, but I have yet been able to switch them to the included more standard feet.
