Telecentric lenses are designed so that the light exiting the rear element is perpendicular to the sensor. Non-telecentric lens designs allow the light to strike the sensor at an angle, which can lead to vignetting at the edge and corners of the sensor. The telecentric design of this lens minimizes vignetting.

A: To the best of my knowledge it will work with the telescope but I don't think the software is Mac compatible.

A: Yes, no problem it only weighs 4 to 5 oz.

A: You will need a 2"-to-1.25" Telescope Eyepiece Adapter for this imager.

Q: 4. Is this the replacement for HF35HA-1B?

A: It would appear to be a suitable replacement.

Q: 5. Will this work with a Meade EXT125?

A: It will if your using the right apature.

Q: 6. Pardon me for not being so advanced. can this be used in a 10" Dob no tracking? Once attached to a laptop, I'm assuming you can focus while watching real time on your laptop screen? How quick is the exposure time given the object will be moving in a Dob with no tracking. Thanks!

A: Think of the NexImage 5 Solar System Imager as an electronic eyepiece. The software also delivers the ability to manually change the gain, contrast, exposure time, frame rate and color saturation of the camera through the computer.

Q: 7. The Tamron website says this is a C-Mount lens. Can someone confirm that is C or CS mount?

A: The manufacturer website information always takes precedence. They say this is a C mount lens so C mount it is. I have alerted the B&H web department and apologize for any confusion or inconvenience.

A: Yes, the NexImage can be used as a live feed camera, take images, video and edit them while stargazing. Sincerely, Garrett at Celestron

Q: 10. I have a very nice pair of 125mm-objective binoculars, and I've always wanted to try to use a camera with them to photograph terrestrial objects (birds across the bay, cargo ships in the harbor, etc.). The binos use pairs of standard TeleVue 1.25 eyepieces. Would this astro camera be an easy and inexpensive way to do this? Thank you for any help you can offer. - Mark H.

A: This NexImage 5 will fit into any 1.25 format eyepiece holder. So if your binoculars are using 1.25 eyepieces currently - this would connect to them (obviously through only one of the oculars)

[5.6 oz / 159 g] We use these on our machine vision applications. Our customers are always concerned with reducing the cost of their fixture. The B&H price was a definite cost-savings as to purchasing a similar product through another company.

[0.03" / 0.72 mm] Nice camera for the price. Images are sharp and clear. However, there is a learning curve for using the software that comes with it. Lots of "how to" You Tube videos to assist you how it works.

[0.7" / 17mm] This is a fun way to add some colorful creative effects to your instant photography. The look can range from subtle to very pronounced depending on your subject and which filter you use from this pack. I say if you like the samples shown on the product package, you'll probably have a lot of fun with this. Included are two photos I made, one with the Austin filter and one with the Northern Lights filter.

[0.435 lb] Amazing image quality. Practically no barrel or pincushion distortion. Perfect for my robot. Even with a 1 image sensor, there's only a small area in the corners that's not covered by the image circle, even though the lens is rated for 2/3 sensors. I just wish there was an option for frictionless focus and iris setting, so I wouldn't need to take the lens apart and modify it for my motorized focus+iris rig.
