Capture long exposures & time-lapse photo sequences remotely and wirelessly, thanks to the Hahnel Captur Timer Kit for Nikon DSLR Camerasfor Nikon digital SLR cameras. This bundle enhances your Captur remote shutter release system by providing a AA battery-powered interval timer module, as well as a receiver for mounting on a camera. Additional receivers are available for firing even more DSLRs. Use this kit with the transmitter you already have, or purchase one separately.

As an alternative to wireless operation, the system can function in wired mode, and this kit includes the N1, N2, and N3 cables for connecting both the receiver and timer module to the camera. The module features single, continuous, and bulb exposure modes, allowing you to choose from a huge range of exposure times with the continuous and bulb settings. Its interval timer is fully programmable and offers two timing sequences, as well as selectable delay times. Additionally, Digital Channel Matching (DCM) ensures quick and easy pairing of other receivers and triggers if you choose to expand your setup. The Captur works on the 2.4 GHz frequency for reduced radio interference and an impressive operating range of up to 328'. It offers simple controls and a large, easy-to-read LCD screen for hassle-free operation. Pressing the shutter release button halfway will activate autofocus, while a full push will trigger the shutter to capture an image.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this Hahnel wireless unit have bulb ramping capability?

A: I'm sorry but this item does not have bulb ramping.

Q: 2. Is this product compatible with my Nikon D7200?

A: Yes, the Captur Timer Kit is compatible with the Nikon D7200.

Q: 3. Hi. Can I use this for Nikon 7500?

A: Yes

Q: 4. Does this work with Mirrorless cameras, the X-T2 specifically?

A: I used it successfully with my xt1. I was annoyed that the plug interfered with shooting vertically with an L plate. I checked with the plate mfr, Really Right Stuff, and the only solution is to slide the camera onto the plate up to the plug. The camera is secure, but you're not at midpoint which is annoying if you're working with a specific composition. The intervalometer seems to be well made. i thought the instructions were inadequate, but anyone familiar with how these work, will do fine. Some things I'd like to figure out: how to turn off the beeping, and how to turn off the bright green light on the receiver. Both of these can be annoying to other nearby photographers if you're shooting the night sky.

Q: 5. compatibility list does not include any Olympus cameras! Is this remote control compatible with OM-D EM5 Mark 3 ?

A: Yes it is!

Q: 6. Is the wireless RF?

A: Yes

Q: 7. The picture shows a receiver and the timer which it looks like you can remotely trigger the camera. Why another trigger?

A: The one part is the transmitter, and the other is the receiver which mounts on the camera. There does not appear to be another trigger.

Q: 8. Is there a way to connect this to an Olympus OMD E-M1 Mark ii? The Mark ii has a different remote connection than the original E-M1, so my current remote will not work with it.

A: That camera is compatible with this product.

Q: 9. Which cables are included for compatibility? Picture indicates F1 and F2 but I think C1 is needed to be used with X-H1, X-T3 and X-T4?

A: According to Hahnel this comes with the F1 and F2 cables.

Q: 10. Will this remote trigger work with the Fujifilm GFX 100 ?

A: Yes it will!

[0.785 lb] I recently got into light painting and it was hard to get the results I wanted at first. I would have to set the exposure time, hit the shutter button on the camera, run into place, turn on the light, paint, and then run back to try again after it finished taking the picture. I would repeat the process, which is very exhausting after multiple takes.

With this device, I can place the camera on BULB, stand where I need to, press the button on the remote and hold it until I'm finished painting. It works great! Just be sure to know how to unlock after you've held it down for more than 3 seconds. I supposed the lock function is what does that. I haven't explored the settings enough to know.

The device is actually kind of heavy for a remote of its size, but it's a comfortable weight. It's pretty well made as far as I can tell, but I've only used it a few times. Some people complained about the quality and a few other issues, but so far so good for me.

I will try self portraits next and will see if I can use a flash with the mounted device.

[0.785 lb] Have had many shutter releases with cords that short out. This one has a cord too, but it only goes from the unit to the camera, and will not be jostled around, ergo no shorting out :) Works as good or better than corded shutter releases.

[Yes] I bought this remote for my Canon SL2 and 5D mark ii. It works perfectly, even after few hours out in the night, doing astrophotography. I had some trouble making it work at the beginning, though. I contacted Hähnel customer service and resolved the issue in no time. Apparently, INTVL1 and INTVL2 must be set at a minimum of 4 seconds, otherwise the camera does not take the number of shots programmed, but it collects them all in one very long exposure. Perhaps this info should be in the remote's manual. I recommend remote very much, both for quality and customer support.
