The matte black AKG C636 Condenser Vocal Microphone Matte Blackfrom AKG C636 Condenser Vocal Microphone Matte Blackis an evolved C535 microphone updated for today's rigorous requirements for live performances. It adds improvements for handling noise, pop and feedback rejection, which can be used for live performances, live events, demanding speech and presentation applications.

Featuring a cardioid polar pattern and 48V phantom power, the mic is offered with a pure-studio sound, enclosed in a worry-free durable housing. Studio mics are usually too sensitive to bring on the stage, but the C636 features a double-shock suspension system that reduces handling noise. The capsule sits on a rubber bearing, eliminating any structure-based noise. An adjustable balancing network cancels vibrations over a wide frequency range.

Furthermore, a multi-layer protection system provides singers with clear, plosive-free vocal performances. It consists of the grille, a foam layer behind the grille and a magnetically attached computer-modeled mesh layer on top of the capsule. Built with rugged zinc alloy construction and a spring steel grille, the C636 stands up to the most demanding tour schedules.

The uniform cardioid polar pattern throughout the entire frequency spectrum combined with a suspension and grille essentially eliminates feedback for the capsule.

Highly absorbent rubber and an adjustable balancing network cancels vibrations over a wide frequency range, reducing unwanted handling noise.

Unique 3-layer protection system prevents unwanted pop noises-providing singers with a clear, plosive-free vocal performance.

The robust zinc-alloy housing with a spring-steel grille and 24-carat gold-plated capsule, the C636 is extremely rugged and durable enough to last a lifetime of performances.

For live performances, live events, demanding speech, and presentation applications.

Q: 1. Please y need one Crown wireless mic that y can connect to audiotechnica system 10 receiver, it has to have the tipe of conector for audiotechnica atw 1101 with the conector code name cW?best regards

A: The CM311 is available in different versions. The CM311L with a three-pin mini XLR connector which fits all AKG wireless body-pack transmitters. The CM311A which is a full size XLR connecter and CM-311AE is a pig-tail which you will have to wire on the connector for the Audio Technica. Unfortunately we do not have the CM-311AE in stock. Here is a link to the manual for wiring. a href= http://www.akg.com/pro/p/cm311group#downloads-link target= _blank http://www.akg.com/pro/p/cm311group#downloads-link/a

Q: 2. Can the mic stand adapter (mount) be purchased separately? I have an older akg perception that I'm assuming is compatible.

A: We do not have the stand adapters seperatrely but we do have shock mounts that would fit. Both by AKG and third party: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/811165-REG/AKG_1040_Z_00020_SH_100_Shockmount.html https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1075694-REG/auray_shm_scm1_shock_mount_for_condenser.html

Q: 3. Based on the description showing stage use , we bought two of these and put them on the edge of our stage facing the audience in the hopes of a decent ambient pick-up. They are picking up way too much from the rear and the manual actually says that they are either super cardiois or hyper cardioid which would not have as much rear rejection as a plain cardioid. Am I misunderstanding something or can you please advise us on a more appropriate selection? We are a church with a fair amount of stage volume and need these primarily for in-ear ambiance and the results were practically no vocals and little audience with mostly stage music from drums and guitar amps.Thank you

A: There are adapters in the box. One has holes to skew the response curve to voice. There is another to reject background sound. I think it comes with it installed. Did you check your db settings? It has a switch to drop the output.

Q: 4. Is this mike usable as on-camera microphone?

A: No it is not usable on-camera. You would hear every bump and noise. For video you would use a stable boom mic stand. Also if you are using this where there is a breeze you would need a wind cover.

Q: 5. How does it work on upright bass?

A: It should work very well. As a lower-cost alternative to the fabulous C414 family of mics, the C214 will offer you a fine low-end for recording an upright string bass.

Q: 6. what microphone stand would you request for this microphone?

A: The AKG P120 Cardioid Condenser Microphone can be used with a variety of different microphone stands. You could use a tripod style floor stand with a boom arm like the Auray MS-5230F Tripod Microphone Stand with Fixed Boom (B&H # AUMS5230F) or without a boom arm like the Auray MS-5230 Tripod Microphone Stand (B&H # AUMS5230). If you prefer a tabletop stand, the Auray TT-6220 Telescoping Tabletop Microphone Stand (B&H # AUTT6220B) and the Ultimate Support JS-DMS50 Tabletop Mic Stand (B&H # ULJSDMS50) are both good options. If you would like a studio broadcast arm, the Samson MBA38 Microphone Boom Arm - 38" (B&H # SAMBA38), the On-Stage MBS5000 Broadcast/Webcast Boom Arm with XLR Cable (B&H # ONMBS5000), and the Auray BAE-2X Two-Section Broadcast Arm with External Springs & Integrated XLR Cable (B&H # AUBAE2X) are all compatible. Please feel free to contact us if you have additional questions or if you would like further assistance to select a microphone stand that will be best for your specific application.

Q: 7. When I click in the box it says the set has limited warranties on the items already is this true?

A: The items in this vocal studio kit do have manufacturer's warranties included.

Q: 8. I need a hypercardioid mic for interior dialogue recording on a boom pole. Is it possible the this mic can deliver in such a task? Or is it too heavy. Too bulky? Thanks.

A: I use this mic in our studio on a C-stand and hand held for street interviews. I do have some shoots coming up in August where I am going to purchase a boom for it. It's definitely bulkier than a choir mic, but I love the sound (don't forget to put the hypercardioid adapter on it that comes in the box).Hope that helps,Jeff

Q: 9. could this mic be used to amplify wood vibrations such as drums or even a piece of wood?

A: This would be an excellent mic for your application

Q: 10. Does this microphone require additional equipment to be used with a Zoom H4N pro?

A: Yes, the AKG P120 requires an XLR cable to connect the mic to Zoom H4n Pro. A mic stand adapter is included, but other optional accessories you may want are a mic stand, and perhaps a pop filter and/or shock mount.

[Cardioid] AKG never disappoints. I never had any doubts when I bought it. I've been familiar with the C451 for years in studio and performance use, and frankly, this mic is just perfect for a home studio and up. I've been using mine mostly for guitar and instrument micing. Here's a sample of it in use on the guitars: https://youtu.be/nH6eD-FrKL0?si=YRHnFHaNs0sdHdOV

[Low Cut/HPF] Compared this C7 to the Shure Beta 87. Specs show it has more output, slightly flatter response, tighter supercardiod pattern, quieter noise floor and higher max SPL for the same retail price. I'm not disappointed. This is a great sounding mic. To check the pickup pattern I spoke into it and rotated it through 180 degrees from front to back and watch the meters on the mixer. For voice, it starts dropping at about 45 degrees from front and center and by the time I got to 90 degrees I was down by more than 30 db. From behind it was down another 5db again, but it was an unscientific test so probably was picking up room reflections. Using it at graduation to pick up audio for video it did a really good job of rejecting the room speakers and noise...it almost behaved like a shotgun mic. In my opinion, it's a better mic than the Beta 87 and has excellent sound quality and feedback rejection characteristics. It's an attractive mic, too. I plan to buy more.
