For a striking yet beautiful image, the Tokina 35mm T1.5 Cinema Lens MFT Mount Feetwith a MFT mount has the same look and feel as other lenses in the Cinema Prime lineup, for a consistent look when cutting between lenses. The lens produces an image circle that more than covers Super 35-sized sensors providing sharp images and even illumination from edge to edge. This is a 35mm focal length lens, and it shares the same form factor, lens gear position, focus rotation, and front barrel diameter as the other Tokina Cinema Vista prime lenses, so it will easily fit into your workflow when working with other Cinema Vista primes. It features a maximum T stop of 1.5, useful when shooting in low-light situations or when you want to capture that exceedingly shallow depth of field look.

The 9-bladed iris provides round out-of-focus highlights for a natural-looking bokeh. The lens barrel features approximately 300° of rotation from close focus to infinity; this gives you a high degree of precision when pulling focus. The lens is designed to minimize focus breathing and features geared manual focus and iris rings. Markings on both sides of the lens barrel make it readable from either side of the camera.

The 35mm T1.5 MFT mount prime lens is capable of focusing images on a sensor with full 8K-resolution and features a 46.7 mm image circle, which easily covers standard-sized full-frame sensors. The MFT mount physically blocks the image circle coverage from full-frame to Super 35mm sized-sensors, but doesn't otherwise affect the optical operation of the lens.

The use of a 9-blade iris produces a smooth round appearance to out-of-focus specular highlights. The iris also produces a pleasing bokeh, referring to natural-looking out-of-focus areas of the image. The iris is manual and features smooth movement without click stops for smooth exposure adjustments while recording.

The lens has markings on both sides of the barrel, making it easy to read focus and aperture settings from behind or from either side of the camera.

The lens shares the same front lens diameters and gear positioning on the focus and iris rings as the other lenses in the series, making lens switching quick and convenient. Additionally, the focus ring features approximately 300º of smooth rotation to help facilitate consistently accurate focusing especially when pulling focus during a shot.

Designed to minimize variations in the angle of view while focusing, a phenomenon known as focus breathing. This feature is extremely important while pulling focus, especially on static shots, where focus breathing is more noticeable.

The lens features threading on the front to accommodate 112mm screw-on filters. This feature allows the camera operator to add filters over the lens without taking up a filter stage in a matte box.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this lens (and the 50 mm) weather sealed like the 24 mm one? Only this 24 mm lens says so in the description.

A: Yes, the Rokinon 35mm T1.5 DSX High-Speed Cine Lens (RF Mount) and the Rokinon 50mm T1.5 DSX High-Speed Cine Lens (RF Mount) are weather sealed.

Q: 2. Is the image correction rectilinear?

A: While the term rectilinear is not used for this lens by Tokina it does offer Aspherical Elements and Super-Low Dispersion Glass which reduces distortion and increases Optical Performance.

Q: 3. does this lens has any tripod mount capability?

A: This lens, like any similar cinema lens, is not normally tripod mounted. There is a 1/4-20 mounting foot but that is meant to be supported by a rod system that is attached to a camera. This provides necessary triangulated support. We strongly advise using the lens in this manner. We say this because if you attach the lens to a tripod with the foot directly and then mount a camera, ever a small one like a mirrorless, you will likely strain the lens and possibly damage it.

Q: 4. Does this lens come in a EF mount?

A: Yes, it does. Tokina Cinema Vista 16-28mm II T3 Wide-Angle Zoom Lens (EF Mount, Focus Scale in Feet) B&H # TOKPC1016EF

Q: 5. What is the difference between this "Vista Cinema Prime" versus the "Vista One" versions of the same lens?

A: Vista prime are involved in a more sophisticated quality control standard Vista Prime lenses will have the front element, and mechanical parts changed to Vista One single-coated elements and premium space grey mechanical parts. The lenses are calibrated to factory specifications and checked for optimal performance.

Q: 6. this lens can covered super 35 sensor without vigen image?

A: The Tokina 35mm T1.5 Cinema Vista Prime Lens (PL Mount, Feet) supports up to full frame sensors. It would not vignette when using Super 35 sensors.

Q: 7. will these lens cover arri mini lf sensor with out darkening circle at t1.5 or t 2?

A: Since the Canon Sumire Prime Lenses cover a full frame (36mm x 24mm) image circle, there will be a slight darkening of the corners at the wides apertures when shooting at 4.5K LF 3:2 Open Gate.

Q: 8. To use with my DJI LiDAR, DJI says I must use a manual lens, the gear cannot turn repeatedly or LiDAR won't calibrate?

A: The Rokinon 35mm T1.5 DSX High-Speed Cine Lens (EF Mount) is a manual lens and would support the DJI LiDAR range finder. The gears of the Rokinon 35mm will not turn repeatedly.

Q: 9. Does this lens work well with either of the Metabones Speedboosters and MFT/GH5?

A: If you have an MFT mount camera you should be able to use an EF to MFT mount adapter to use this lens. Keep in mind though that this is a fully manual lens, it will not take advanrtage of the electronic communication that a Metabones Smart Adapter offers. Instead I recommend the Mitakon Zhongyi Canon EF Lens to Micro Four Thirds Camera Lens Turbo Adapter Mark II instead. It is a manual adapter.https://bhpho.to/2bG2xhx

Q: 10. What's the difference between Mark i and mark II of this lens?

[T22] Think Canon cinema lenses are hype? Think again. This lens is a game changer. I have the 50mm L series f1.2 and this lens blows it away in sharpness, accuracy of focus and several other areas. Best purchase I've made for a while.

[T1.5] Sharp, very low distortion, great build quality. Best lens I own.

[112 mm] I needed something wider than my Fujinon MK 18-55, took the chance on this lens.
I was a bit concerned with color matching but it actually pairs wonderfully with it. Its a bit heavy, but not surprising considering the amount of glass. construction quality is great and the IRND comes in handy on my B camera kits.

[MFT] Love how well constructed is this lenses and its performance. No chromatic aberrances in its widest at 11mm. None noticeable vignettes and vertical distortion at the sides of the image. One of my wise investments! Use it with BMPCC6KPRO.

[31.1 mm] -Reparacin.

[T1.5] Lines are great! almost no warping - astonishingly aspherical— superior to the previous generation 11-16mm. Good on 4k, but low resolution image starts to show itself when wide open. T4/5.6 is the super sweet spot. Great bang for the buck.

[MFT] I needed something longer than my 55 but shorter than my 85 so this is just right for me. Amazing wide open but I recommend a large production monitor to stay on top of the focus, DoF this shallow is gorgeous but you can't take your eye off it for a second.
