The Tokina 50mm T1.5 Cinema Lens EF Mount Feet Focus Scalewith an EF mount and with focus scales marked in feet, provides an image circle that more than covers It provides an image circle that more than covers full-frame sensors and is designed to provide sharp images even when recording images at 8K resolution. This is a 50mm focal length, and shares the same form factor, lens gear position, focus rotation, and front barrel diameter as the other Tokina Cinema Vista prime lenses. This makes on-set lens changes a fast and efficient operation. It features a maximum T stop of 1.5, useful when shooting in low light situations or when you want to capture that exceedingly shallow depth of field look.

The 9-bladed iris provides round out of focus highlights for a natural looking bokeh. The lens barrel features approximately 300° of rotation from close focus to infinity; this gives you a high degree of precision when pulling focus. The lens is designed to minimize focus breathing, and features geared manual focus and iris rings. Markings on both sides of the lens barrel make it readable from either side of the camera. The lens features an EF mount and the front of the lens is 114mm in diameter with a built-in 1/4"-20 support foot that helps support the lens with the aid of an optional 1/4"-20 rod-mounted lens support (not included).

The 50mm T1.5 EF mount prime lens is capable of focusing images on a sensor with full 8K-resolution and features a 46.7 mm image circle, which easily covers standard-sized full-frame sensors.

The use of a 9-blade iris produces a smooth round appearance to out of focus specular highlights. The iris also produces a pleasing bokeh, referring to natural looking out of focus areas of the image. The iris is manual and features smooth movement without click stops for smooth exposure adjustments while recording.

The lens has markings on both sides of the barrel, making it easy to read focus and aperture settings from behind or from either side of the camera.

The lens shares the same front lens diameters and gear positioning on the focus and iris rings as the other lenses in the series, making lens switching quick and convenient. Additionally, the focus ring features approximately 300º of smooth rotation to help facilitate consistently accurate focusing especially when pulling focus during a shot.

Designed to minimize variations in the angle of view while focusing, a phenomenon known as focus breathing. This feature is extremely important while pulling focus, especially on static shots, where focus breathing is more noticeable.

The lens features threading on the front of the lens to accommodate 112 mm screw on filters. This feature allows the camera operator to add filters over the lens without taking up a filter stage in a matte box.

[50mm] This lens is a beast! Shooting wide open is tack sharp, the size is huge - and night shots are unlike anything Ive ever seen. We shot with it on a C100 Mk II, C300 Mk II, and RED Dragon and when comparing the footage it was hard to tell the difference from the 100 vs 300. This lens will make your camera shine, especially if its a Canon Cinema series. That and on-set our clients have noticed it and are very impressed. This will elevate your productions to another level.

[50mm] My video production is mainly for television commercials. I've owned other compact prime lenses before and when I had the opportunity to work with the Canon CN-E line, I immediately got more attention and compliments from my clients. The more I work with this line of lenses the more business I tend to get, which is why I chose to invest. To my surprise, this lens is even sharper than the 50mm and 85mm which I'd worked with in the past...I am impressed and very happy about my purchase.

[6.55 lb] This is my prime go-to lens on my Canon C-300. On the set of my short film, Jupiter's Legacy, my DP and I came back to this lens again and again. Coupled with the C-300's low light capabilities, the 1.5 allowed me to shoot primarily in lovely candlelight and torchlight. We successfully lit one scene with a single 15 watt Christmas Tree bulb. This lens is tack sharp and has great contrast. I love it. The first AC loved working with the smooth focus mechanism.

[6.55 lb] One the most-used lenses on a super 35mm sensor, the 35mm CN-E from canon has been long in coming. I think it was worth the wait. This lens ads the mechanics and housing of a true cinema lens, and improves noticeably in terms of contrast, sharpness and chromatic aberration compared it's still-camera-L-series cousin. Contrast is excellent wide open, and corner sharpness is exceptional throughout the range. The small amount of CA is largely limited to the extreme corners on a full frame camera, and is essentially negligible on super35 or other cropped sensors. I only wish the 50mm was this good.

[50mm] Pleasantly surprised by this lens. Used to own Zeiss CP.2, and have rented the CP.2 Super Speed 50mm many times, as well as the Canon CN-E lenses. In terms of sharpness, this Sigma easily beats all three of those. In some ways, this is to be expected because those are older lenses, and were designed before 4K was a ubiquitous resolution. If you're still shooting/delivering in HD, then it may not matter. These days, the differences are noticeable in 4k, especially shooting wider than T4. This lens is an amazing value and punches well above her weight. Sharp enough to resolve tack-sharp in 4k, and they claim it's sharp enough for 8k. I won't comment much on color/contrast rendition and character because it's so subjective, but to me it produces a very straightforward and grade-able look and doesn't seem to color the footage much. Also haven't tested/can't comment on lens flare characteristics. Favorite features: -Hardly any chromatic aberration wide open, which is where the other lenses in this range typically fall apart wider than T4. Still very sharp at T2. -Offered in E-Mount with is great for my FS7. -Build quality is as good as one would hope for a lens in this range. -No focus breathing!

[Imperial] I also own CN-E 24 mm. 35 mm version is sharper and creates very pleasant image. I see myself using it much more than 24. I should add that the whole line Canon cine primes is a very good alternative to other sets of primes from other manufacturers including Zeiss Compact line which are more neutral and lifeless.

[Imperial] If you're doing a prime lens, you'll be fine. The color is good and it's crisp. It has less cat's eye than a canon cn-e and Zeiss CP. A Sigma cine zoom lens is another story. The focus breathing is real!

[6.55 lb] I had the original set of these cine lenses...then cometed my set with this 35mm. What a fantastic lens. The quality and build is superb. I picked these over the Ziess set...and I'll never look back!

[50mm] When I moved over into the Canon Cinema camera line, due to costs, I decided to go with the Rokinon cinema lenses. Initially, I thought they worked great and it was a definite upgrade from my previous setup. However after shooting with these lenses I can't even believe the difference. The color and clarity are unmatched – I even rented other lenses to compare (Zeiss, Xeen) and IMHO these Canon lenses blew them all away. They make skin tones just come to life and are sharp but not overly harsh. Worth every penny!
