The Tokina Cinema Vista 16-28mm II T3 E-Mount Lenswith an E-mount and focus scales marked in feet is a wide-angle zoom lens that covers full-frame sensors and is designed to provide sharp images even when recording images at 8K resolution. Featuring a parfocal design and a T3.0 aperture throughout its zoom range, the lens holds focus throughout the zoom range and does not ramp exposure as you get to the extremes of the zoom range. The lens design also reduces the breathing and image shift sometimes encountered while zooming and focusing. It uses aspherical elements and super-low dispersion glass in its optical design for optimal color correction and minimal distortion.

Sharing features with the Tokina Cinema Vista primes helps to provide a consistent look when swapping between lenses. The 9-bladed iris is shared among the lenses and produces attractive bokeh in out-of-focus areas, with naturalistic-looking out of focus highlights. The focus, iris, and zoom control rings have cine-style 0.8 Mod gears, and the focus ring features approximately 300 degrees of rotation, which matches the focus rotation on the Cinema Vista primes. The 16 to 28 zoom features a 114mm front diameter that is also in common with the Cinema Vista primes making for fewer adjustments to accessories when swapping lenses. In addition to an E-mount, the lens also has a built-in 1/4"-20 support foot that helps support the lens with the aid of an optional 1/4"-20 rod-mounted lens support (not included).

A: Yes, the Tokina 85mm T1.5 Cinema Vista Prime Lens with MFT mount could be used with a speed booster.

Q: 2. this lens can covered super 35 sensor without vigen image?

A: The Tokina 35mm T1.5 Cinema Vista Prime Lens (PL Mount, Feet) supports up to full frame sensors. It would not vignette when using Super 35 sensors.

Q: 3. Will these workon the MAVO LF? It is full frame but 6k not 8k

A: At this time we do not carry Kinefinty cameras at this time, you will want to check with them regarding exact compatibility. That being said we can tell you that this lens covers a full frame sensor at up to an 8K image. If the camera has an EF mount we believe that it should work.

Q: 4. Is the mount on this lens interchangeable? From PL to Sony E for example

A: yes but the only available mounts are EF or PL mount. the E-mount flange depth is too shallow for amount change you will need and E mount to PL mount adapter on any E mount camera

Q: 5. Will this really cover Full-Frame sensors? Key features states that is does and that it is suitable for 8K Image Capture. I would be using it on my Red Monstro VV & my Red V-Raptor 8K VV Sensors.

A: Yes. 100% the following unit accommodate all you 8k full frame needs.

Q: 6. I need the PL mount kit for my Tokina ATX 50-135 (2017 version... not the last one). Do you have it? Thanks

Q: 8. Will this work on Arri Alexa Mini?

A: Yes, depending on which ARRI Alexa Mini mount you have, the Tokina 35mm T1.5 Cinema Vista Prime Lens is compatible with the Alexa Mini.

Q: 9. There is no electronic EF focus and aperture control option, correct? This would work well with RED cameras...

A: That is correct, this is a Cinema Lens that requires you to control the focus and aperture on the lens itself. If you have a RED camera with an EF mount this lens will work great with it.

Q: 10. Is the image correction rectilinear?

A: While the term rectilinear is not used for this lens by Tokina it does offer Aspherical Elements and Super-Low Dispersion Glass which reduces distortion and increases Optical Performance.

[1.75x] This lens is bulky but sharp and great in low light.

[Imperial] I wanted a wide angle lens mostly for a small architectural project I'd like to pursue (that was all the excuse I needed to buy!). This is on a D810.

The physical lens quality seems to be solid. I'm used to fully sealed lenses so I will need to retrain myself when shooting in a wet environment. No problems so far, though.

The focus is definitely slower than what I'm used to but I'm not sure the use case for a fast focus wide angle zoom lens is a wide one. Perfect for tripod-mounted wide angle shots of buildings, landscapes, etc. Shooting people handheld just requires a bit more verbal direction and consideration for the slower focus.

I'd not worked with a lens whose focus is switched between manual and auto by pulling or pushing the lens barrel. That confused me for about 30 seconds when I knocked it into manual on accident. Just an fyi!

The fact that this lens is nearly 1/3 the cost of the equivalent Nikon model made this a no brainer for me. For my limited use case and special project, it would have been silly to go the Nikon route.

While I've not played a ton with it yet, I am noticing that it's not as sharp as some of my Nikon lenses. But, the photos it produces for me are still amazing!

Overall, I'm thrilled with the purchase and would do it again! Seriously great value for the price.

[1.75x] Surprised to not see reviews of this lens on B&H. It’s excellent. Nice smooth focus, iris and zoom. Finish and build are you excellent. There’s something special about the footage captured with this lens. Pairs well with the 11-20mm. Full video review on my Nice Lady Productions YouTube channel dropping shortly.

[16 to 28mm] I needed something longer than my 55 but shorter than my 85 so this is just right for me. Amazing wide open but I recommend a large production monitor to stay on top of the focus, DoF this shallow is gorgeous but you can't take your eye off it for a second.

[Imperial] From music videos, documentaries, narratives, and many more! When filming solo or on a time crunch this zoom has served me well. It has very sharp beautiful image, this is a good lens to pair with the Tokina Vista primes. As much as I love things being sharp, I've been loving the Tokina black supermist 1/8 to give it subtle softness and adding even a more filmic look to the image.

I like leaving one camera on the MoviPro with a prime and than having another camera handheld with this mk 2. Compared to the mk1, it feels solid, durable, and compact. To have cinema like quality at a small size is so gucci, especially if you need to keep a small foot print! ...and for all you Komodo enthusiast, it looks wonderful on that too!

[1.75x] This is my second zoom I've purchased from Tokina and I am happy with quality and attention to detail I'm seeing. The overall lense is best with quality in mind, and you can tell the moment you pull it out of the box. The rings all move with the right amount of drag and there's no backlash. The front diameter matches up with the 11-20mm so I can use my clip-on mattebox easily on both. In terms of image quality, it is sharp and clear throughout the whole image circle. Bokeh has a nice shape to it and everyone who has seen images from the lense have only had positive things to say. While the lense is parfocal, their is a little bit of breathing in it. This is the only area I would say is not perfect, but still well within the usable range. The breathing is quite minimal when compared to other zooms in this focal length range and price point. Overall, I'd highly recommend this zoom if you are looking to fill out the longer end of your focal range. It ticks all the boxes for me, and I think that it will be a huge workhorse in the owner/op category.

[Imperial] I’m so glad there were so many other thorough reviews of this lens. Blown away with the image/resolution quality. Very little distortion, very little vignetting after you close down to around f4. This lens is HEAVY, but I chalk that up to the quality of the materials and glass. Works perfectly with my EOS R and my gf’s Sony a7ii. If you need a super wide lens, this is the only one I’d suggest for professional FF use.

[1.75x] Amongst the best value for a mid/long range cine zoom on the market with impeccable glass. There are a lot of budget lenses on the market that don't quite punch above their weight the way the Tokina ATX Zooms do. I'm thoroughly impressed with color rendition, and focal breathing is kept very minimal. Adaptable to so many mirrorless bodies. The build quality alone is worth the price, I truly feel I'll own this lens forever as a zoom workhorse, paired with Zeiss Milvus primes.
