Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this Tram TR50 work with Sennheiser EW100 G3 system?

A: Yes, just make sure you have the right Sennheisser 3.5mm connector. I have bought 3 of these sor the g3's . They're a huge improvement over the sennheiser G3 Lav. They don't break as easy and they are pretty affordable to some of the alternatives. They are easily hidden and don't make quite the handling noise the originals do either. I use these as a back up for my MKH50 and occasionally have a hard time descending which is the better mic to use in edit.

Q: 2. If you are doing a sit down interview, is there an advantage to using this wired, XLR version of the tram mic over the wireless version with the sennheiser g3/g4? Is the sound quality better with the wired mic?

A: Yes there is an advantage. ALL wireless systems, regardless if price, process the audio by compressing (at Transmitter) and expanding (at Receiver). This process adversely affects audio. A wired mic, such as the Tram provides better sound quality and 100% reliability (as long as it stays plugged in).

Q: 3. Will this work with a Sony PCM-M10 or Olympus LS-14? Thank you!

A: Hello. It doesn't appear that either recorder has an XLR jack, only 3.5mm (or 1/8 ). Technically you could use the TRAM mic, but it would require an XLR female to 3.5mm male adapter to convert the TRAM's XLR male plug to 3.5mm. Make sense?

Q: 4. Will this Connector work with the Audio Technica ATW-T310?

A: Although the Tram TR50GSO- has a 4 pin hirose connector, it has been wired to work with Sony Wireless transmitters, and is not guaranteed to work with the Audio-Technica ATW-T310. These mics are not available for online purchase. Please call our sales team at 800.606.6969 to place a special order for the correct variant.

Q: 5. Does this price include all of the accessories in the photo?

A: Accessories pictured are included.

Q: 6. Will this work with a Saramonic TX10?

A: We are using it with the Sennheiser TX/RX system. Not familiar with the Saramonic TX10. Sorry.

Q: 7. Does the Tram TR50 mic really fit loosely in the clips, as some have reported? (I just want to make sure whether it's common to the design or if some just received a dud.)

A: Mine fits snuggly but it's still pretty new.

Q: 8. Will this work with the Rode Wireless Go 2?

A: Yes. The Tram TR50 Omni Lavalier Microphone with 3.5mm Locking Sennheiser Connector (Black) BH #TRTR50BSETP will work with the RODE Wireless Go II system.

Q: 9. Will this work with both the Lectrosonics UM400a & SMV Transmitters? Thanks.

A: The Lectrosonics SMV and UM400a transmitters both feature a TA5M connector which is compatible with the Tram TR50 wired with TA5F for Lectrosonics.

Q: 10. Will this work with the Rodelink Filmmaker?

A: Unfortunately at this time, we are only able to confirm proper operation with the Rode brand lavaliers.

[1] I bought this to replace a Sony lav that bit the dust. I had used the Tram previously with Lectrosonics and forgot how much smoother they are over the Sony's. Highly recommended

[1] This mic will work with the ROLAND R-05 without phantom power or extra adapter power. All you have to do is turn on the PLUG in POWER in the menu settings. Also do this next step.. On the r-05 you can change the plug in power voltage from 0.9 volts to 1.2 volts. There is a hidden menu you can access by pressing the AB/Split button together with the Menu button. It will display what looks like the normal menu screen but with an extra option choice #8 that says Special Setup. Mic Bias which is default set to *0.9 v change it to 1.2v SO THIS WILL GIVE YOUR TRAM TR50 MORE POWER
