The black Countryman B6 Omni Lavalier Mic for Azden Wireless Transmittersfrom Countryman B6 Omni Lavalier Mic for Azden Wireless Transmittersis a very small lav microphone measuring one tenth of an inch in diameter with changeable protective caps, which provide moisture resistance and color options. The mic can be used to capture audio for theater, broadcast, churches, and general lavalier applications.

Built with a low handling noise and rugged construction, the B6 lavalier microphone can be easily hidden in hair or on costumes, or taped to a performer's face. The aramid cable and ultra-thin diaphragm deliver a natural sound while its tiny size makes the B6 easy to position for ambient noise and feedback rejection. The B6's cable terminates to a Hirose 4-pin connector for direct connection to an Azden 41BT (UHF) wireless bodypack transmitter.

Additionally, swappable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or match other microphones. The B6 microphone is resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps. These caps can be quickly removed for cleaning or replacement.

Looks great when you want to see it, virtually disappears when you don't. The B6 is easily hidden in hair or on costumes, with five colors to match clothing, hair, and skin tones. Use a felt tip marker to color the white caps for near-perfect concealability. Never suffer the hassle and degraded sound quality of under-clothing miking again.

The B6 is resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps, and works well in hair or on the body. The protective caps are easily removed for cleaning or replacement, and the aramid-reinforced cable gives it world-class survivability.

The B6 provides high-quality audio with low distortion at SPL up to 140 dB on 48V phantom power. The aramid cable and thin diaphragm combine to offer low handling noise. The flat frequency response accurately captures voice or instruments, and the small size makes the B6 easy to position for ambient noise and feedback rejection.

Changeable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. Versions are available for different speaking or singing styles, with high overload capability for recording instruments.

Standard, for most uses.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How well does this system work with GoPro?

A: Hello Jonathan. Thank you for your inquiry in regards to the WLX-PRO+i VHF Wireless Lavalier Microphone System. This system is best suited for use with DSLR and mirrorless cameras, as well as mobile devices (using the included TRRS adapter cable). For GoPro filming, you wouldn't need the +i version of this kit, but merely just the regular WLX-PRO. If you still want the flexibility to record video with a mobile device in the future, you can purchase this kit and just omit the adapter cable when filming with GoPro. However, we do recommend our PRO-XD 2.4GHz Digital Wireless Microphone System when choosing to shoot with a GoPro, as that system has a more compact form factor and adjustable gain from the receiver going into your camera. We hope this information helps in your decision and thank you for choosing Azden!

Q: 2. What other brand of lapel mics can be used instead of the supplied lapel?

A: Hello Jonathan. Thank you for your inquiry in regards to the WLX-PRO+i wireless microphone system. To answer your question, any lapel mic that has a MONO 3.5mm plug that takes power from the transmitter will work.

Q: 3. Can you buy additional mics for this system? I need 2 mics in order to video conversations.

A: B&H does not offer this microphone for sale as an a la carte item.

Q: 4. How well does this system work with Canon 5D ?

A: This is considered an entry-level, basic wireless microphone system, and should work fairly well depending upon the distance and operating environment. Depending upon your particular project or application you may very happy with its performance for the price/value paid.

Q: 5. I am looking for a wireless lavalier system for no more than $200 that offers decent audio quality. My usage will include standups and liveshots for news gathering and that's all, thus, why I don't want to spend too much money. It will only be used with my personal equipment not for my job. And I would be using it with my Sony HXRNX100 NX Cam? And I am confused about the frequencies?

A: For specific product recommendations please email your needs to AskBH@BHPhoto.com and one of our representatives will assist you.

Q: 6. Does the FCC still allow these frequencies for wireless mics? i understand zsome of the frequencies have been changed fpr wireless microphones.

A: Yes, as of this moment, the PRO Series frequencies (169.445MHz and 170.245MHz) are still allowed for unlicensed use by the FCC. As far as we are aware, the FCC has no plans to make changes to their rules regarding the VHF bands. Both changes in recent years and current plans for future changes mostly affect the UHF bands.

Q: 7. Can the microphone system be used with a Panasonic model HC-V180 camera?

A: If the camera has the standard 3.5mm audio input jack, then yes.

Q: 8. Will this mic with the cannon XA15 video camera?

A: Yes, the Azden WMS-PRO VHF Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System with Handheld Mic is compatible for use with the Canon XA15 Compact Full HD Camcorder. To connect the output from the wireless receiver to the camera's XLR mic input, you will either need to use an XLR adapter like the RODE VXLR 3.5mm TRS Female to XLR Male Adapter (B&H # ROVXLR) or use a cable with an XLR connector, like the Kopul Stereo Right-Angle 1/8" Male Mini-Jack to XLR Male Cable - 1.5' (B&H # KORSMXM015).

Q: 9. Can I use a 3.5 mm stereo to XLR adapter to use this on a professional camera?

A: Yes you can use something like BH #KOAXMMF for that solution.

Q: 10. I'm in need of a decent (but budget) UNI-directional lav I can plug into my Zoom H1 or Tascam DR05. Anyone know if the plug-in power from those devices is enough for this mic? Thanks.

A: The Azden EX-505U is a unidirectional lavalier microphone for use with WM-PRO transmitter order as AZEX505UH for use with the 41BT transmitter. It MAY however, work in devices that offer plug-in power.
