Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is the Madiface Audio USB class compliant? (Not MIDI) How does one set it to class complaint mode?

A: Compatibility: OS Compatibility Windows 7 Windows 8 macOS 10.6 or Later Please see the mnual: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/lit_files/95628.pdf

Q: 2. Is it possible to use this product as an external sound card? Specifically, I'd like to use it to connect it to my computer through USB and use it to get sound from my computer to my studio monitors. Is this possible?

A: The ART USB Mix can be used to playback audio from your computer via USB through the mixer. With a single button the USB audio is routed through channel 2/3 and output via the main analog outs.

Q: 3. Can this be utilized as USB audio interface for Akai Force Firmware 3.1?

A: Possibly. We do not test interfaces with third party software or hardware.

Q: 4. Are all 8 input channels stereo?

A: No

Q: 5. Will the Digiface work as USB class-compliant audio interface for Akai Force with firmware 3.1?

A: The Akai Force USB ports are for using USB drives for loading samples. You can also use the included cable to use the Akai Force as an audio interface for your computer. The Akai Force does not have ADAT I/O for compatibility with the RME Digiface. The RME Digiface would require a USB power source if you wanted to be able to run it without a computer.

Q: 6. Is it possible to feed Optical Audio to this mixer and have an output as HDMI or Optical Audio?

A: Hi Nguyen, Thanks for this interesting question. The T4S and T8S can accept analog audio and digital audio via USB A or USB B. There is no optical input or HDMI. If you have more questions please join our Bose Portable PA Community. https://www.bosepro.community/g/portable

Q: 7. Will Madiface operate as USB class compliant device? (using 32x32 channels I/O)

A: The MADIface USB MIDI is class compliant. Therefore it comes without a driver. OS X recognizes it as MIDI device and will be using it with the driver included in the operating system. Like any audio interface the MADIface USB should have a data transmission to the computer as undisturbed as possible. The easiest way to guarantee this is to connect it to its own bus, which should be no big problem as most USB 2.0 interfaces are a double bus design. A check in the Device Manager can be done as follows: ¾ Connect the MADIface USB to a USB port ¾ Start the Device Manager, choose View Devices by Connection ¾ Select ACPI x86-based PC, Microsoft ACPI-Compliant System, expand PCI Bus

Q: 8. When connected via USB, is this mixer selectable as an audio source in video software like OBS, Vmix, or Wirecast?

A: When connected to a computer via USB, this device would be selectable as an audio source into OBS.

Q: 9. Does this work with Apple Silicon?

A: Yes, the RME Digiface Dante is compatible with M1/M2 Mac computers. Detailed instructions for driver installation can be found here: https://www.rme-audio.de/rme-macos.html

Q: 10. Getting static and interference noise. When I unplug USB it stops?

A: A comprehensive test of every device in your setup would need to be done to determine where the interference noise and static is coming from. You could be getting RFI (Radio Frequency Interference) through the computer or computer monitor. If the noise is a ground loop, you may try the EBTECH HUMX which filters out unwanted voltage and current in the ground line that cause ground loop hum, while simultaneously maintaining a solid, safe ground.

[Up to 200 kHz ] I also have a UCX II for a 5.1 setup, and needed a more portable solution with less IO and a similar sonic profile for traveling and doing simpler stereo work. The sound of this unit is clean, clear, honest, and indistinguishable (to me, at least) from the UCX II. The build is incredibly solid, and the included case is a nice touch. One caveat about the RME products is that these are professional grade tools, and you will not be able to jump right in and start using these without some baseline knowledge. The necessary TotalMix companion utility is by no means difficult to use or poorly designed (quite the opposite), but you'll have a learning curve with it. It's totally worth it! But the Apogees and UAs of this ilk are more plug and play and ignore the tech stuff if you want friendly as far as DAW integration goes.

[1.3 lb] I wanted to update from my UA Arrow. Didn't really love UA sound or reliability. This thing sounds amazing! Some people complain about Totalmix setup, but I found it easy and intuitive. My Shure SM7B sounds clear and has enough gain to run it without mic booster. This thing is top notch!

[USB Bus Power] It has an amazingly small footprint which is exactly what I needed given that I have very little space on my desk. It sounds fantastic, great clarity and sonic spacing without adding anything to the audio. The inputs/outputs are easy to control. Great design. It's USB 2.0 bus powered if you wish. USB 2.0 works just fine with this unit, I haven't had any issues with it. Don't confuse throughput with functionality. If you're not scoring a 150 track piece with this, then you'll be just fine. The TotalMix software is a bit confusing but really flexible. I highly recommend this device for anyone with limited space but needs higher audio fidelity. It seems pricey but once you use it, you'll appreciate all the engineering that went into this, well worth it.

[12 x 7 x 3.85"] Well-built unit. Solid and works great, with pristine sound quality. There's a reason RME products cost a premium; you get what you pay for. Love the rotary encoder for volume control, the compact size, and the case which makes it easy to throw in a bag and take to a mobile session. I also own the flagship UFX II interface and the totalmix software is interchangeable between this unit and my UFX II
