The lens can be added onto 67mm threaded lens ports on underwater camera housings, and can be combined with an optional adapter for mounting onto threads of a different diameter. The narrow design of the mount's base makes it compatible with various other accessories, as well, including lens holders, mount converters, flip mounts, and quick-releases. Additionally, the UCL-09F features front 67mm threads, making it possible to stack optional extra macro lenses or add color-correction filters.

This macro lens contains 5 multi-layered elements arranged in 2 groups, allowing for clear images with corner-to-corner sharpness. A special coating on these elements minimizes reflections and flare from the sun or artificial light sources.
