Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does anyone know if this will work with smaller lenses? I shoot the G9 with 100-300ii lens. It looks like the expect you to shoot a FF 600!

A: It can be adjusted to work with almost any lens and camera combination.

Q: 2. Hi, I have a height of 160 cm, which model do you recommend?

A: I have the regular version. The dimensions are 195.5 cm x 172.7cm. All I can say is that it works for me and gives me a good coverage. I am 5’11”.

Q: 3. Are there issues with the plastic window being hard to see out of?

A: The mesh window works well for the photographer to see the subject but still be hidden.

Q: 4. Would this fit over a Sigma contemporary 150-600 lens? What about smaller telephotos such as under 105mm?

A: Yes, the LensCoat LensHide Water-Repellent Photo Blind is a good option for the Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM Contemporary Lens. It is a but cumbersome to use with shorter lenses like 105mm, but it is possible.

Q: 5. Is there room for a chair or do you need to stand at a tripod ?

A: If the chair is small enough to fit under the LensHide Water-Repellant Tall Photo Blind, then you should have no issues using them together.

Q: 6. Can you do hand held photography, with this blind, or must you use a tripod?

A: Yes, a photographer can use the Lens Coat Photo Blind in a handheld position but we highly recommend using with a tripod for a better end-user experience.

Q: 7. why am I having problems with scratches on the glasswhy am i getting scratches on the glass?

A: A filter like a lens is still glass and is sensitive to scratches like any other lens. Some filters are better than others. But a lens cap still needs to be used when using filter to protect it when you put it in a camera bag.

Q: 8. Is this waterproof?

A: no, although the store has a waterproof version

Q: 9. Is the regular weight very heavy or should I consider the lightweight version?

A: I have the regular and it is only 2.3 lbs

Q: 10. I want to be able to sit on a small stool or chair, with tripod/big lens. Will it fit over my chair and tripod?

A: Yes, assuming your chair or stool is on the smaller side.

[3.05 lb] Lenshide works as advertised. Lightweight, easy to put on lens/tripod and provides good concealment in a portable package. Works standing, sitting on a chair or on the ground. Worth the purchase

[3.05 lb] This blind works well as a portable option when you’re unable to leave a full setup in place(i.e. public land, high traffic areas, etc.) It doesn’t hide all movement but is better than sitting out in the open. I usually unzip the top portion on warm days for more ventilation and clearer visibility. It also packs down easily into its built-in storage bag. I would recommend this product to fellow photographers.

[3.05 lb] This is a good light weight and highly mobile blind. I set up in a number of locations while photographing birds. This blind is always in my backpack and can be set up and ready to go within a couple of minutes. I just used it to observe and photograph a Bluebird’s nest for nearly an hour seemingly without disturbing the adult Eastern Bluebirds as they came and went. It comes with a pouch attached to the blind but to be honest I never bother to refold it, I simply role it up and slip it back into my pack and off I go. If you are tall like me, get the tall version for full coverage. Not a good choice in a stiff wind. Also know that a decent breeze will cause the blind to move as well but you are certainly concealing your form from the wildlife. Not going to work for you if you need instant concealment but if that’s what you need then why are you looking at blinds v a Ghillie suit? Just saying this is not for everyone however it meets my needs and I can recommend it. PS it says light weight, the fabric is not heavy duty, it is in fact “light weight”; you are not getting something made out of Cordura.

[3.05 lb] Make sure you need the water repellent type as it get very hot inside. Impossible to use in Texas summers. I assume their other model is more breathable
