Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this Version v1.0R or Version v2.0R? It appears from the pictures to be the v1.0R which TRENDnet says is discontinued.

A: We no longer have the V1.0R. It has now been updated to the V2.0R.

Q: 2. Can unit be wall mounted? It looks like it may have screw accommodations for angle brackets.

A: It could be wall mounted, but only with right-angle brackets that fit the hole patterns on the switch. No brackets are supplied with the switch. The patterns on the case appear to be like those you would find for rack mounting equipment with right-angle brackets on the left and right of the front face. Don't know thread of the holes. The square they form is 20mm center-to-center on a side. Square is 18mm from front, 12mm from bottom and 13mm from top. There are no openings on the top or bottom of the case.

Q: 3. What firmware version is on this switch? I see alot a sales of the version 1.0R which is obsolete by Trednet.

A: Unfortunately we are unable to check the serial, batch, firmware or OS version of a item before it ships.

Q: 4. Can you turn off EEE?

A: Energy Efficient Ethernet is always enabled with this Netgear 16-Port Gigabit Ethernet PoE+ Unmanaged Switch and cannot be disabled.

Q: 5. Any idea on how far you can run ethernet to power a simple bullet cam using this switch?

A: The standard recommended limit to a single run of Ethernet cable connection is 100m or about 325 feet. As the POE standard can adapt to power requirements, based off the length, as long as your stay below the 100m you should have no problem. I have run connections out over 150 feet with no problems.

Q: 6. Does this come with rackmount ears?

A: This switch comes with a rackmount kit.

Q: 7. Could this be used to power a Panasonic AW-HE40SW camera? (B&H # PAAWHE40SW)

A: Based on the specifications, Yes, it should power the camera.

Q: 8. Will this device power the new ubiquiti 48 volt cameras? UVC-G3-AF?

A: Hi Tony! Thanks for your interest in TRENDnet! Yes, this device will power the new ubiquiti 48 volt cameras. Hope this helps! If you have any more questions, you can always respond directly to this thread and someone will be happy to try and help answer any additional questions you may have! Have a great day! Q: 9. What port number does the incoming from server go into, I'm assuming number 1? TIA

A: The manufacturer has not specified any of the TPE-TG84's Ethernet ports as a designated upstream port.

Q: 10. Hi. I won’t need the power supply if I just need to extend a POE signal. Would I?

A: Yes, you would still need a power supply. We do offer other alternatives if you are looking to just extend POE without power.

[36.00 W] I purchased this POE switch for a camera system. There are 4 cameras that are connected to a NVR thru an access point (bridge mode). I used this to power the cameras and feed the antenna. The switch has a 48vdc power supply. Works like a charm.

[246 W] I purchased these to power some meeting room scheduler enclosure I purchased. They work well easy to set up especially now that both ports are on the same side. I have the older version that does not but, they are still working too. I have had the older ones for 4 + Years. Great Solid Product. I am a IT Global Operations Manager for a Corporation and I have always used these since they have come out.
