Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can 2 wicicle receivers receive from a single transmitter? Or are 2 transmitters necessary?

A: One transmitter can communicate with multiple receivers.

Q: 2. How much Wireless DMX Transmitter needs to turn 16 lights ?How much Wireless DMX ReceiverNeed to turn 16 lights ?Tank you!

A: If you are using a lighting control board, you can connect one transmitter to the output and one receiver to the first light in your chain. Then, you can daisy chain the remaining lights together. So, one receiver and one transmitter should be enough, unless you are using all your lights far away from each other and don't want to have any cables. In that case, each light would need both a receiver (to get the signal from the previous unit) and a transmitter (to send it to the next unit in the sequence).

Q: 3. Do the receiver status lights go out eventually or stay on all the time?

A: Once setup and connected, the LED status light will light when sending or receiving data.

Q: 4. Will this work with ARRI Skypanel?

A: The Switchcraft DMX Barrel Adapter 5 Pin Female To 3 Pin Male B&H # SWS5F3M can be used with this receiver onto the Arri Skypanel. Please see the image below for reference.

Q: 5. Will these work with Chauvet instruments?

A: This can be used on a variety of DMX capable items.

Q: 6. Under outputs it says:XLR Direct Output x8 XLR Transformerless Output x8What's the difference between direct and transformerless?

A: Hi Daniel, one of the outputs on each channel is directly connected to the input, and will give out exactly what is sent in. As far as I know, this it the channel that has no transformer, and will therefor also feed phantom power out. The other channel has an equally winded transformer that does nothing to the physical sygnal, but it gives out a clean sygnal that is isolated and will not allow for a ground loop potential differance to pass through to the source. It does not make sense to me to seperate the direct out, and transformerless out description, as they are the same. I would call it a Direct/Transformerless out, and one isolated trasformer out. But again, this is what I think, and I might be wrong. Hope this helps.

Q: 7. Can I run a DMX cable from the fixture that has the wireless receiver attached to it to another fixture and another each with a different address the same as I would with a hard wire cable to the first fixture from my controller?

A: According to Blizzard Lighting, you would be able to run a DMX cable from a fixture which has a wireless receiver attached to another fixture with a different address just as you would with a hard wired connection.

Q: 8. Does this unit work to connect 'directly' to lights that have native wireless dmx built in such as Lumenradio or CRMX?

A: The Blizzard wiCICLE Wireless DMX Transmitter BH #BLWICICLETRA uses wiCICLE signals and is not directly compatible with LumenRadio or CRMX.

Q: 9. If I used all three of these with a board like the SDC12 how would channel assignments work? Would they just go 1, 2, 3 automatically or would I need to do something else?

A: You assign a Dmx address for each light and choose channels for each fixture as needed.

Q: 10. Could I use 100-200 of these receivers with one transmitter?

A: Being that one universe of DMX is comprised of 512 channels, you could use that amount of receivers. However, this would also be dependent on the fixtures you're connecting, where one fixture can take up multiple channels to control color, motion or dimming.

[2.85 lb] I have owned Blizzard lighting in the past and although I don't use their lighting fixtures I DO use their wiCicle Transmitters to connect my lighting software dongle to my lighting fixtures. I have tried many of the cheaper versions available on Amazon and elsewhere only to find out that they don't have a reliable and steady connection to the fixtures. The official Blizzard wiCICLE transmitters seem to communicate better and last longer. Yes they too are made in China but perhaps with some better components. They also made an improvement when changing the color frequency it is now a button rather than having to take a paperclip or bobby pin in the hole. I hope this helps!

[2.85 lb] Just got this and it's working exactly as expected. The build quality is average, but it's only $$!! I am using this in a club install to boost my DMX signal and split it into different zones. Easy set-up, and even has a 5 pin DMX input and thru (I am using mainly 2 pin, but it's nice to have the option). The indicator lights are very handy (you can see that DMX is being transmitted to a specific channel). This is my first Blizzard product, so far so good.

[2.85 lb] I installed this unit last week and it worked without problems. I am using four of the outs and everything is working as expected. The unit is built well and the price is great compared to others I looked at. If you need a DMX distributor I highly recommend that you try this one.
