A: It is a 5 piece foam set. Two of the layers for the base and lid are solid, and three of the layers for the case are cubed so they can be cut out as desired.

A: Pelican Foam Set BH #PEFIM2720 comes with 4 precut, 1 egg crate foaml lid and 1 bottom matt. The bottom matt is not consider a section. It prevents vibration going throughout the case.

A: The bottom layer is given at 1.0 (2.54 cm), the three thick Pick 'N Pluck foam sections are 2.0 (5.08 cm), and the textured egg crate foam section on top is 0.75 (1.905 cm) at its thinnest and 1.25 (3.175 cm) at its thickest.

[2.9 lb] I purchased the Pelican 1550 a few years ago so when I needed to reconfigure it for new gear I bought the two peace foam set. I am very happy with the foam. It's a great replacement and will order it again the next time I need to reconfigure my case. 5

[2.9 lb] Does what its suipposed to do for re-organizing my kit. I do however feel the price is gouged just a bit, yet changing a kit configuration isn't enough of a common occurance to feel that I'm being -nickle-and-dimed. Not much to see here, does what it needs to do. 5

[27 x 18 x 13"] I like this quality and it is a true Pick-N'-Pluck foam. But I advise you to be careful when cutting out your desired holes. I made the mistake of not taking careful notice... that the two foam pieces are not exact they have to be turned a certain way to match. I discovered this too late the right-side wall on each piece is thicker than the left side resulting in an uneven cut for me. So, I chose to purchase this item again and turn the two pieces to match left and right to make sure they are even before cut. I don't want anyone to make the same mistake as I did. But other than that!... I LOVE IT 5
