The light beige Countryman B6 Omnidirectional Lavalier Mic for Zoom Recordersfrom Countryman B6 Omnidirectional Lavalier Mic for Zoom Recordersis a miniature lavalier microphone measuring only 0.1" in diameter. It features a 3.5mm locking connector and connects to select Zoom recorders with audio on left and right channels. The B6 microphone provides high-quality audio with low distortion at SPL up to 130 dB on 48V phantom power. The aramid cable, combined with the ultra-thin diaphragm, ensures low handling noise. The tiny size, combined with natural sound pickup, makes the microphone easy to position for ambient noise and feedback rejection.

The included changeable protective caps (+0, +4, and +8 dB) provide moisture resistance and allow you to adjust the frequency response to suit different applications or to match other microphones. Each of the three omni caps has a different high-frequency response characteristic that controls the amount of crispness or sibilance (response at 15 kHz). This microphone ships with the +4 dB protective cap attached, which boosts the perceived amount of presence in your sound while leaving the lower frequencies unchanged. You can switch to the 0 dB cap in case of problems when using this microphone with high-frequency feedback.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can this survive harsh water sports like whitewater kayaking?

A: Yes, the B3 was designed to be water-resistant and it can be used for water sports as well as for reporting during a hurricane, it should survive water water kayaking.

Q: 2. does this work with the zoom h1?

A: No it will not work with the Zoom H1 since this microphone has a XLR connection and the H1 does not. I use this mic with a ZOOM H5 and it works great.

Q: 3. is it good for Rode Wireless GO ?

A: No this lavalier microphone comes with a 3.5mm locking pin made for Sennheiser wireless systems, a lavalier to use with the Rode Wireless Go needs to have a 3.5mm without a locking pin for a good connection without any noises.

Q: 4. Can I use the Countryman B3 connected to a Sennheiser AVX Wireless set? I would buy this instead of the more expensive MKE2

A: Yes, with the Sennheiser plug it will work. You'll have to adjust the sensitivity as it may be different from the mic you used on the transmitter before, but that's easy enough.

Q: 5. Can you recommend a transmitter/receiver to go with the countryman mic?

A: This is an XLR mic and meant to be plugged directly into a camera or mixer or recorder. If you are wanting to purchase the B3 for a wireless situation (which is a different model) I'd recommend spending as much money as you can (like a Lectrosonic or Shure). The more expensive models are totally worth the money you'd spend.

Q: 6. Compatible w. both G2 and G3 transmitters - or is there maybe issues to be aware of?

A: Works as intended. Much better than the MKE-2.

Q: 7. hi, please what is the key difference between the low and the standard sensitivity?

A: Standard sensitivity is fine for most applications. Low sensitivity is best employed with trained or very powerful vocalists or public speakers as for opera, rock church and worship.

Q: 8. Will this microphone work with the Zoom H1? Thanks.

A: I hooked a sanken cos-11d that is wired for Sennheiser transmitters up to a small sony hand recorder that has similar connections to the Zoom H1. This worked fine, except that the audio was coming in on the left channel only. If that doesn't bug you then I think I can tentatively say it should work. But you might want to get the B3 with normal sensitivity as this one has headroom, read as a bit of a pad. i.e. if the subject whispers, you might not hear it on this mic unless you turn the gain way up.

Q: 9. Will this work with a Zoom H1?

A: This model of the Countryman B3 is designed to connect to a Sennheiser transmitter that features a locking 3.5mm connector. We have had customers who claim the mic will function and the H1 is able to supply proper power to the mic as well. Unfortunately we are not able to confirm and generally do not recommend this mic for use with portable recorders.

Q: 10. Will this MicroDot connector use with my DPA Microphones DAD6001 Microdot to 3-Pin XLR Adapter with Belt Clip ?

A: Yes, the Countryman B3 Omni Lavalier Mic, Standard Sens, with Microdot Adapter for Sennheiser Wireless Transmitters can be used with the DPA Microphones DAD6001 Microdot to 3-Pin XLR Adapter with Belt Clip instead of using the included Microdot Adapter for Sennheiser.
