Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What material is the foam made out of? Polyurethane / Polyethylene?

A: The foam interior of the ZEISS Otus Transport Case is made of polyurethane cubed foam.

Q: 2. I need a case to keep my Blackmagic Cinema Camera rigged with rails and matte box, for storage and car transport. Any extra items (lenses, cards, etc.) I can fit are a bonus--the main concern for me is fitting the rigged camera. The matte box is 11 wide, and the bag dimensions are listed as 8 wide. My question is, how flexible is the bag width? Since this is not a hard case, I assume there's some play here. Thanks!

A: I have a Black Magic Production Camera. It barely fits the camera and rails. Not sure you can get the box or the lens in there. Because of the quality of the bag, there's not a play or stretch to be had.

Q: 3. Would you trust the protection for checking this with two tripods inside?

A: Yes, we usually use this as a stand, soft box, tripod bag. We tend to put the tripod in another protective bag within the Lightware case because we have a full bag and fly with these bags all the time.

Q: 4. Is the 4th space made for the Otus 100m?

A: The Otus Transport Case is currently designed for the Otus 28, 55 and 85 lenses. The fourth opening is for storage of the LensGears that are shipped as part of the Otus 3-Lens Bundle. It is possible to fit the Otus 100 into the opening for the Otus 85.

Q: 5. Does this meet standard checked baggage size for flights?

A: Unfortunately Lightware C6042 42" Cargo Case, Padded (Black) is a few inches larger than the size allowed in most flights, but I would recommend checking with your airline because what is allowed varies a lot between airlines and also you may be able to pay extra to have them check it.

Q: 6. Can this case hold 2 Matthews Hollywood Baby Junior double riser stands ?

A: Yes, they will fit.

Q: 7. Does the bottom of this case have skids or feet? Is it the same exterior material on the bottom?

A: The Case exterior material is Nylon, unfortunately there are no Skids or feet on the Lightware C6037 Flip Lid and Cargo Case.

Q: 8. Is this IP67 rated?

A: According to the manufacturer, the ZEISS Otus Transport Case has successfully been tested for IP67 . This means dust- and waterproof (water to 1 meter/ half an hour dry).

Q: 9. Is the zip open lid padded?

A: 3/16 of stiff foam inside the lid. Not much, but it's not just fabric.

Q: 10. How many C-Stands (turtle base) would this case be comfortable in handling? Will it handle the weight of 3 Avenger C-Stands (with arms)?

A: I reckon it would. Its a bloody heavy duty bag. It would more be if you could lift it or not

[Handle] I used this bag a lot in my old job while flying, and I can say from experience that it is sturdy and does a great job at holding up to that kind of wear and tear. This version is a little long, a photographer with smaller tripods and lightstands could easily use the size below it.

[6.6 lb] For over a year now, I have used this case to hold SEVEN C-Stand shafts with SEVEN C-Stand arms. The legs are not stored in this case but that doesn't change the fact that I am still mind blown by this cases capabilities.

[6.6 lb] Really well-built case, as expected from Lightware. I use this to haul c-stands and booms around, and it works great. It can pretty easily hold 4 or more standard c-stands with detachable bases and mini booms.

[Handle] This is an amazing, heavy duty gear bag. It's long enough to hold a lot of light stands and my boom mic stand. This is easily one of our favorite pieces of gear so far.

[Yes] Lightware makes the best cases on the market! I use this case to carry a bunch of my lightweight stands and umbrellas.

[Universal] I use to transport lighting supports. You can squeeze stuff into this until it's bursting and once closed I don't need to worry about the case opening. The zippers seem super tough as is the rest of the bag. It's come out of a bunch of lang haul flights unscathed, as have the contents.

[Zipper] I needed a bags large enough to hold 6 impact stands of varying height plus extension arms, pony clamps and diffusion. All fit, super durable zipper, really nice padded handle. I highly recommend for the amateur or lightweight pro.

[6.6 lb] The Lightware case I bought is great. It has a heavy duty zipper, and the ballistic cloth is tear and scuff resistant. I am very happy witht he purchase and would buy another Lightware product in the future.

[Handle] This is the same bag that Astro Physics sells for more. Even though the internal dimensions are smaller than the dimensions listed for the Losmandy HD Folding Tripod, it fits great.
