The tan Countryman B6 Lavalier Mic for Roland Recorders, Mid Gain, Tanfrom Countryman B6 Lavalier Mic for Roland Recorders, Mid Gain, Tanis a miniature lavalier microphone measuring only 0.1" in diameter. It features a 3.5mm locking connector and connects to select Roland recorders with audio on the left channel. The B6 microphone provides high-quality audio with low distortion at SPL up to 130 dB on 48V phantom power. The aramid cable, combined with the ultra-thin diaphragm, ensures low handling noise. The tiny size, combined with natural sound pickup, makes the microphone easy to position for ambient noise and feedback rejection.

The included changeable protective caps (+0, +4, and +8 dB) provide moisture resistance and allow you to adjust the frequency response to suit different applications or to match other microphones. Each of the three omni caps has a different high-frequency response characteristic that controls the amount of crispness or sibilance (response at 15 kHz). This microphone ships with the +4 dB protective cap attached, which boosts the perceived amount of presence in your sound while leaving the lower frequencies unchanged. You can switch to the 0 dB cap in case of problems when using this microphone with high-frequency feedback.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will the 3.5mm locking also work for the Deity wireless systems?

A: Yes, this version of the Countryman B3 will work with the Deity wireless mic systems. The same mics that are compatible with Sennheiser ew series transmitters are also compatible with the Deity systems.

Q: 2. Does this work on a rode link system?

A: Yes. Currently, Rode is using the same exact wiring configuration on the Rodelink that Sennheiser uses in their evolution wireless (EWG3). For this reason, the Countryman B3 Omnidirectional Microphone (B&H# COB3W5BSR) will work with the latest Rodelink Systems.

Q: 3. Will Countryman B3 with MicroDot Connector for Sennheiser Wireless Transmitters (B3W4FF05BSE) Work with the Sennheiser G3's?

A: In order to use the B3 Omni Lavalier with a Sennheiser G3, you will need a Microdot to Locking 3.5mm Adapter like the Deity Microphones DA35 (B&H # DEDA35).

Q: 4. Which one do you prefer B3 or B6?

A: It truly depends on your application. A B6 is great when you need to hide it into clothing or a wig for theater and show productions. B3's great for most standard applications such as interviews, plant mics, etc.

Q: 5. Will this work with the rodelink wireless system?

A: The Countryman B3 Omni Lavalier Mic, with the 3.5mm locking stereo mini connection, B&H #COB3W4LSR, is compatible with the Rodelink wireless systems.

Q: 6. HELLO WHATS MEAN (LS) OR (L4) CONNECTION TYPE?

A: The B3's cable terminates to a TA5F connector for direct connection to a Lectrosonics M185 or M187 wireless bodypack transmitter.

Q: 7. Is this wired for a Lectrosonics UM100?

A: if it's for Lectro wirelesses then it had a TA5 connector which will plug into the transmitter.

Q: 8. Will this microphone work with the Zoom H1? Thanks.

A: I hooked a sanken cos-11d that is wired for Sennheiser transmitters up to a small sony hand recorder that has similar connections to the Zoom H1. This worked fine, except that the audio was coming in on the left channel only. If that doesn't bug you then I think I can tentatively say it should work. But you might want to get the B3 with normal sensitivity as this one has headroom, read as a bit of a pad. i.e. if the subject whispers, you might not hear it on this mic unless you turn the gain way up.

Q: 9. can you confirm that the carrying case is as shown, or is the newer hardshell zipper case? I prefer the older ones.

A: Yes that is the case that comes with the B3.

Q: 10. Can I use the Countryman B3 connected to a sony uwp-d11?

A: Only if it was wired for Sony. Although the 3.5mm connector for the Sony looks like your standard jack that you see on Sennheiser systems, it is actually wired differently, and you cannot swap them for each other.
