Portable and compact, the QuickJib attaches to the custom TCR100 crane tripod, which fits perfectly into the heavy-duty DC100 adjustable dolly. You're ready to roam! The perfect combo of quality and economy, this QuickJib system will provide years of reliable operation, whether indoors, outside, or in the studio.

The QuickJib selectively uses industrial powder coating and anodizing for optimal component performance, with stainless steel fasteners throughout (as opposed to lesser, cheaper zinc-plated fasteners). The slim QuickJib outperforms the competition by having 50% less air resistance in breezy conditions than jibs utilizing a four-arm support system.

Brake system utilizes a heavy-duty plate that is securely mounted to the pivot section. Brake compression system is built into a stator and designed to compress firmly and securely, while remaining forgiving enough to slide under extreme force that might otherwise topple a locking-brake jib system.

Locking stainless aircraft pins of the highest quality and strength are used at the pivot points, and they are attached by lanyard to prevent them from ever being lost.

Camera platform and tilt base join to the jib arm with stainless aircraft pins that insert through sealed radial ball bearings at the tilt base and high-performance sleeve bearings at the camera platform, resulting in silent, smooth motion. The camera platform also has a built-in spirit level for quick reference and adjustment. Paired with an optional Zero Gravity head, you have a professional manual overhead jib.

Telescoping weight arm adjusts up to 3 feet for tremendous flexibility. Extend the arm to reduce the amount of weight needed, shorten it to work in tighter spaces, or simply adjust it to fine-tune the counterbalance.

This custom-built crane tripod is the only tripod VariZoom recommends for use with any crane, no matter the brand. We recommend you never use a telescoping or collapsible tripod under a crane, no matter how small. When supporting an expensive camera on a jib elevated above other valuable equipment or people, it's simply common sense to eliminate all risk and use a single-section tripod instead of a telescoping one.

The TCR100 was designed with safety and strength in mind, combining a solid machined base-plate (not molded), specialty heavy-gauge tubing, and oversize leveling feet for an ultra-stable design that will never falter or fail. With anodized aluminum, stainless steel fasteners and solid brass bushings, the TCR100 will last a lifetime.

VariZoom's heavy-duty dolly has an ample spread and a positive leg-locking system that securely captures the TCR100 crane tripod.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this work with Canon G50 or similar LANC style remote controlled cameras?

A: You most certainly will be able to use a camcorder like the G50 on this jib. However the remote included will not control the zoom on the camera. You would just need to add an additional LANC controller and extension cable for that. Varizoom Controller - https://bhpho.to/2l5fHGu Extension cable - https://bhpho.to/2Jc1iDl

Q: 2. "Except for full motion control capability, the Jibstick Jr manual kit has all of the electromechanical performance of other kits." What does this mean? Does it come with the ability to pan and tilt? The line "except for full motion control" gives me the impression that pan and tilt ability are limited in some way?

A: According to VariZoom, full motion control means repeatability, being able to stop and start in the same programmed position, know where the head is, or repeat actions over and over. This kit has the same pan and tilt capability as the others, but the controller has no positional data, so it is a live manual controller only with speed and smoothing control. Also does not have built-in lens control.

Q: 3. What is a good track to use with this crane?

A: The dolly on this unit does not have track options. It is designed for transport.

Q: 4. How wide is the base of the dolly?

A: The width of the VariZoom VZ-D100 Heavy Duty Dolly for Jibs is about 39 inches.

Q: 5. Does this come with the motorized head for the crane?

A: No, the version with the motorized head is VASC12100.

Q: 6. Is this product the full jib set?

A: This is a complete kit. Just add a camera, a monitor and their cables.

Q: 7. Could this hold an Alexa Mini with batteries, monitor, cage and a follow focus?

A: Yes, the VariZoom VZQUICKJIB QuickJib can hold camera builds up to 50 lb, such as a fully built ARRI ALEXA Mini when using the proper counterbalance of weight. Please note that you will need either a compatible fluid head or motorized pan and tilt head to mount a camera to the jib. These items will need to be included when determining your max weight.

Q: 8. What size tripod head works on this jib? 75mm?

A: Unfortunately, that specification is not explicitly defined by manufacturer at this time.

Q: 9. What is the horizontal reach of this crane?

A: 9'6" - 13'9" (2.9 - 4.2m)

Q: 10. Would this kit handle a small camera (Sony PXW-X200) and teleprompter assuming the combined weight is below stated limit. Will it be able to balance with the prompter on? Thanks!

A: We must admit not hearing about using a teleprompter on a crane before. But that is not to say it cannot work. In certain situations it may be the perfect or only solution. That being said, we have the opinion that since the Sony PXW-X200 weighs 10 lbs and the payload of the VariZoom QuickJib Kit is 50 lbs, as long as the teleprompter is less than 40 lbs, you will be good. There may be an outside chance the baseplate cannot go back far enough to balance. In that case, a longer base plate would solve the problem.

[126.55 lb] super easy set-up and to balance. the movable weight bar is such an added bonus. allowing you to use the jib in tight spaces, and to fine-tune the balance. the need for no tools to set up is just the best. my jonyjib takes several different size wrenches and longer to set-up. I plan on getting the add on length now that I see just how fast and what a versitle jib this is. very smooth pan and tilt and love the break adjustment on it. really can't say enough. well made and very decent bag comes with it.

[126.55 lb] I purchased this time VZQUICKJIB is superior in cost performance. Were tested in ENG CAMERA, but its operation was smooth rigidity is also high Unfortunately the only one point because thinner than Japanese standard bar of the weight Processing that was necessary I'm happy with the other

[126.55 lb] This was purchased with a MC-100 remote head, which I would deem a neccesity given the length and reach of the jib. Out of the box, it is very smooth in all axes and feels solidly constructed. The included dolly and tripod are of similar quality, and the entire package goes together smoothly. One surprise, indicated in the directions, was that the jib isn't desinged to be built at the shorter length. As the pivot section has the requisite holes (but no end plate, as on the extension), I plan to try building it in the short configuration anyway. Our first shoot with the jib was liberating - we had it up and running quickly and were able to make use of it indoors and out. Instant production value! I had considered purchasing the more expensive jib from VariZoom, but am quite content with this one - an excellent value for the money. The supplied bags are nice but don't feel like they will stand up to a lot of abuse (one of the rubber feet has already detached).

[126.55 lb] We use the jib to expand the range of shots on a talk/variety show. It is well made, quick and easy to set up, and is highly portable for field use. Accessories like a 4' extension and a servo head expand its capabilities even more. This is the fourth piece of VariZoom gear we've gotten in the past 10 years, and I've always been very pleased with the durability, functionality, price, and responsive customer service.

[126.55 lb] This is a very well made product and well thought out as well. Every part looks precision made and fits beautifully together and breaks down easily as well. Smooth and stabile (no bounce as with cheaper jibs) this is old school and will out last the life of the owner and pass to another generation and I can't say that about many products made today. Do watch the videos available and visit the manufacturers site to see sections up close. I can tell you there are some jibs if you saw them up close you would run. Even the custom case is of very high quality with a very high quality material.

[126.55 lb] This is a very nice jib. All parts are stout and capped with aluminum fitting rather than plastic plugs as I have seen on most other jibs. Tripod and dolly are also very strong and nicely finished. The MC50 very smooth panning and tilting via a thumb joystick. The MC50 remote head will handle about 15-20 pounds but the jib itself will handle much more. No problems all good so far and I was referred by another happy Quick jib owner with a heavier Varizoom remote head.

[126.55 lb] Wouldn't recommend for a bigger rig; sony and BMPCC4k Cams without many attachments would work great.

Very good quality that are equal to a Manfrotto product.

[126.55 lb] I agree with all of the other reviews and ratings. Extremely well made and a bargain at the price. I looked at others and nothing really comes close to the quality build with very well made brake, and boom and super smooth heavy duty pivoting base.
