This professional, no-tools jib arm system assembles safely and quickly, extending to nearly 14 feet (4.26m). Portable and compact, the QuickJib attaches to the custom TCR100 crane tripod, which fits perfectly into the heavy-duty DC100 adjustable dolly. You're ready to roam! The perfect combo of quality and economy, this QuickJib system will provide years of reliable operation, whether indoors, outside, or in the studio.

The QuickJib selectively uses industrial powder coating and anodizing for optimal component performance, with stainless steel fasteners throughout (as opposed to lesser, cheaper zinc-plated fasteners). The slim QuickJib outperforms the competition by having 50% less air resistance in breezy conditions than jibs utilizing a four-arm support system.

Brake system utilizes a heavy-duty plate that is securely mounted to the pivot section. Brake compression system is built into a stator and designed to compress firmly and securely, while remaining forgiving enough to slide under extreme force that might otherwise topple a locking-brake jib system.

Locking stainless aircraft pins of the highest quality and strength are used at the pivot points, and they are attached by lanyard to prevent them from ever being lost.

Camera platform and tilt base join to the jib arm with stainless aircraft pins that insert through sealed radial ball bearings at the tilt base and high-performance sleeve bearings at the camera platform, resulting in silent, smooth motion. The camera platform also has a built-in spirit level for quick reference and adjustment. Paired with an optional Zero Gravity head, you have a professional manual overhead jib.

Telescoping weight arm adjusts up to 3 feet for tremendous flexibility. Extend the arm to reduce the amount of weight needed, shorten it to work in tighter spaces, or simply adjust it to fine-tune the counterbalance.

This custom-built crane tripod is the only tripod VariZoom recommends for use with any crane, no matter the brand. We recommend you never use a telescoping or collapsible tripod under a crane, no matter how small. When supporting an expensive camera on a jib elevated above other valuable equipment or people, it's simply common sense to eliminate all risk and use a single-section tripod instead of a telescoping one.

The TCR100 was designed with safety and strength in mind, combining a solid machined base-plate (not molded), specialty heavy-gauge tubing, and oversize leveling feet for an ultra-stable design that will never falter or fail. With anodized aluminum, stainless steel fasteners and solid brass bushings, the TCR100 will last a lifetime.

VariZoom's heavy-duty dolly has an ample spread and a positive leg-locking system that securely captures the TCR100 crane tripod.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this work with Canon G50 or similar LANC style remote controlled cameras?

A: You most certainly will be able to use a camcorder like the G50 on this jib. However the remote included will not control the zoom on the camera. You would just need to add an additional LANC controller and extension cable for that. Varizoom Controller - https://bhpho.to/2l5fHGu Extension cable - https://bhpho.to/2Jc1iDl

Q: 2. Would this kit handle a small camera (Sony PXW-X200) and teleprompter assuming the combined weight is below stated limit. Will it be able to balance with the prompter on? Thanks!

A: We must admit not hearing about using a teleprompter on a crane before. But that is not to say it cannot work. In certain situations it may be the perfect or only solution. That being said, we have the opinion that since the Sony PXW-X200 weighs 10 lbs and the payload of the VariZoom QuickJib Kit is 50 lbs, as long as the teleprompter is less than 40 lbs, you will be good. There may be an outside chance the baseplate cannot go back far enough to balance. In that case, a longer base plate would solve the problem.

Q: 3. What is a good track to use with this crane?

A: The dolly on this unit does not have track options. It is designed for transport.

Q: 4. Can the motorized head be underslung? The intention is to use it pointed straight down, which doesn't work in the upright position.

A: Yes, you most certainly can mount the VariZoom VZ-MC50 Pan and Tilt Head in an underslung position.

Q: 5. What is the diameter or inch hole for the weights?

A: The weight bar for all Quickjibs and Cranes is 1" in diameter. Any standard weights from a sporting goods store should work just fine.

Q: 6. What size tripod bowl does this fit into? Standard 100mm?

A: The VZQUICKJIB QuickJib is meant to accept flat and ball tripod heads. If ball, it should be a 100mm head.

Q: 7. How long does it take to go from in the case to operational with this Jib? Does it come with/ have a recommended case?

A: This kit includes a Crane Case along with cases and bags for the various components included. As far as how long it will take to set up, there will certainly be some learning curve with the set up to start. I would imagine it will take a sometime once you first start using it and as you get more familiar with the product you'll be able to have it up in a matter of minutes down the line.

Q: 8. What track will work well with this crane dolly?

A: Consider the Proaim Swift DSLR Camera Dolly With Clip Track System B&H # PRSWFTDTCLP MFR # SWFT-DT-CLP

Q: 9. How wide is the base of the dolly?

A: The width of the VariZoom VZ-D100 Heavy Duty Dolly for Jibs is about 39 inches.

Q: 10. What sort of tripod can this be mounted on? Is there a specific Varizoom product that it has to be mounted on or will it work with a general Manfrotto or Sachtler?

A: Hi I use an older manfrotto that has pins that lock the legs. Don't know the model off hand. You DO NOT want to put on any tripod with collapsible legs with legs extended. It would be a hazard. Also the tripod has a 75mm bowl that the jib base fastens to. Very sturdy once assembled. Varizoom makes a solid leg tripod/ stand for ap. $900.00 You will need a heavy duty tipod for sure. It's a lot of weight with jib, camera, hot head and counter-weights. You will be happy with this jib. Set up is very quick. I just made an extension for mine it gets powder coated in 2 weeks! Can't wait to try it. Best of luck

[126.55 lb] This was purchased with a MC-100 remote head, which I would deem a neccesity given the length and reach of the jib. Out of the box, it is very smooth in all axes and feels solidly constructed. The included dolly and tripod are of similar quality, and the entire package goes together smoothly. One surprise, indicated in the directions, was that the jib isn't desinged to be built at the shorter length. As the pivot section has the requisite holes (but no end plate, as on the extension), I plan to try building it in the short configuration anyway. Our first shoot with the jib was liberating - we had it up and running quickly and were able to make use of it indoors and out. Instant production value! I had considered purchasing the more expensive jib from VariZoom, but am quite content with this one - an excellent value for the money. The supplied bags are nice but don't feel like they will stand up to a lot of abuse (one of the rubber feet has already detached).

[126.55 lb] This is a very well made product and well thought out as well. Every part looks precision made and fits beautifully together and breaks down easily as well. Smooth and stabile (no bounce as with cheaper jibs) this is old school and will out last the life of the owner and pass to another generation and I can't say that about many products made today. Do watch the videos available and visit the manufacturers site to see sections up close. I can tell you there are some jibs if you saw them up close you would run. Even the custom case is of very high quality with a very high quality material.

[126.55 lb] I have two of these heads. I use one on a tripod and one on a shuttle dolly. They make it easy to move cameras and my Pocket Jib Pro between different setups. Extremely durable, well-made, and can support heavier gear.

[126.55 lb] I agree with all of the other reviews and ratings. Extremely well made and a bargain at the price. I looked at others and nothing really comes close to the quality build with very well made brake, and boom and super smooth heavy duty pivoting base.

[126.55 lb] I did a ton of research before purchasing a jib they all had features I wanted & ones that were a bummer. This jib had all the good ones & one unique feature none of the rest had at all; the brake. When you take your hands of the jib it doesn't go slamming into the floor, or if you find yourself wanting to lock it into one height & just use the pivot instead you can. Set up is a snap thanks to the tethered push pins (you'll never search for a missing bolt again) it can be ready to use in about two minutes (seriously it's that easy). The ball bearings inset in the pivot make raising or lowering butter smooth, panning is just as sweet. There is a hole in the handle just above the weight bar I added a 3/8x 3 inch bolt to attach my monitor so follow shots are a breeze. I purchased the MC100 pan & tilt motorized head also which is another WOW the shots are incredible. Excellent quality, sturdy build, assembles quickly, includes bag, amazing price. I simply couldn't be happier. Add a couple of velcro straps for cable routing & you are golden.
