Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is the bottom padded?

A: yes, bottom portion of bag is padded.

Q: 2. Can we use the metabones speedbooster with this?

A: This does give you an MFT mount. It may be possible to use a Metabones Speedbooster as well, however we are not aware of how well it would work. This would be something you'd need to test out to see the results.

Q: 3. I see that the CV 503 is not listed, will this also work with the CV 503?

A: Yes it will. The CV503 has an M12 lens mount. This is an M12 lens, it will work with the CV503.

Q: 4. Does auto focus work with this or no

A: Unfortunately not as there are no electronic pins to pass information.

Q: 5. Which lens with this would I use for a head mounted video of dental procedure about 16-20 inches from camera?

A: For the Back-Bone Gear H11PRO Modified GoPro HERO11 Black Action Camera to capture at a short distance of 16-20", a fairly wide lens such as the computar A4Z2812CS-MPIR CS-Mount 2.8-10mm Manual Varifocal Lens, BH #CO42812CSMPI, would be advised.

Q: 6. I realize it depends on lens used - but can this modified GoPro be used in the water - given correct attachment?

A: No, Back-Bone modified GoPros are no longer waterproof. You would need to put the camera and lens in an underwater housing in order to use it in the water.

Q: 7. Will this fit into hole on other side of Manfrotto MHXPRO-2W for the handle mount? I want to add adapter to fit into hole to attach friction arm for attaching external monitor.

A: This will not fit into the hole on the other side of the Manfrotto MHXPRO-2W for the handle mount.

Q: 8. Will this work on a CV506?

A: Yes it will as the CV506 has an M12 mount.

Q: 9. Will a metabones adapter with ef mount work on this camera ?

A: The Back-Bone Gear Ribcage RCRX0-II Modified Sony RX0 II Camera will provide access to MFT & C-Mount(with included adapter). For access to EF lenses you will need a Metabones adapter from MFT to EF mount.

Q: 10. What is the minimal focal distance of the lens? i.e. how close can you bring any object to the lens whilst it is still acceptably sharp?

A: If you still want to be focused to infinity then the minimum focus distance for the 3.8mm M12 lens is about half a meter. If you don't care about infinity and are only concerned about near focus with a very shallow depth of field, you can set the focus of the 3.8mm mm to about 1cm away from the lens.

[f/2.8] The 4MM lens gives a better view than the 8MM. I'm using the Arecont Vision AV20275DL to get a 180 view of areas of a park. The smaller lens gives up distance for a better wider viewing angle. I've tested the 2.8, 4, 6 and 8mm, the 4mm seems to be the sweet spot. These are OEM lenses and worked perfectly as a substitution for the 8MM.

[f/2.8] We have Marshall 505 cameras all over our orchestra and the varifocal lens has changed our production. Easy to change out and easy to use.

[82°] I use this with my Marshall CV503 for unobtrusive POV angles in a band or other places where the camera would otherwise be an eyesore in other camera shots. It works great!

[f/2.8] Great wee angle lens for exterior security camera. Allows us to see the front door, parking lot and security gate. Good detail and contrast in the shadows on a sunny day. Good night time picture as well.

[f/2.8] I am just getting into astrophotography with this camera mounted to my H-alpha solar telescope. It was over 80°F (~26.7°C) outside today, and the built-in TEC brought the camera down to 0°C in under a minute. Once at temperature, the system held within ±0.1°C without exceeding 35% system output. I kept the fan on, but there is an option to turn it off to reduce vibration and possible noise at the expense of slightly slower cooling rates. I have a lot to learn regarding settings and best practices, but the camera is really simple to setup. The included SkyCapture software feels a little dated, but the minimalist interface is more than adequate (I grew up with Windows 95, so no biggie). I spent a lot of time debating going with the monochrome or color model... don't be afraid of the monochrome, the detail and enhanced sensitivity are worth some extra work.

[Yes] haven't used this too much yet, however, this has been pretty solid when I have used it. a bit difficult to get in focus but its nothing to complain too much about.

[f/2.8] This is a solid lens for tiny POV cameras like the Marshalls. It's nice to have a range of focal length on these cameras, because you usually can't be too picky about where to mount them. Sharp pictures without too much abberation on the edges.
