Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this shallow case can stack on a GR-6L case perfectly?

A: The shallow rack cases are shaped to stack on other shallow rack cases only. They will not lock onto the lid of a standard rack case.

Q: 2. Can I up top element to 90 degrees?

A: No, max angle on the popup is 45 degrees.

Q: 3. When I have my gear in the case would it be safe to take it onto a plane? Would the gear get damaged?

A: I would suggest using a floating rack for shock protection. I would not want this rack to be dropped from 4 feet in the air with my equipment in it. I also would be concerned with any case that doesn't have recessed hardware. The hardware could be knocked off the unit and then the doors will open. Will this unit survive a flight. Probably so. Will it possibly fail. There is a chance.

Q: 4. Would be this case good for a crawn macrotech 2400?

A: Yes, the amp is 16" deep, and this rack is 18.75" deep.

Q: 5. Will the Mackie 1604 VLZ fit in this rack?

A: Yes, Using this mountig kit https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/996862-REG/mackie_1604_vlz4_1604vlz4_16_channel_4_bus_compact.html

Q: 6. Is this Case suitable for Behringer X32 Rack?

A: Yes it is. A 4 space rack will work for this mixer.

Q: 7. What is the exterior height with casters of the 10U rack?

A: Exterior dimensions on the Gator G-Tour 10U are as follows: Length 25.75" Width 21.50" Height 20.00" https://gatorco.com/product/10u-standard-road-rack-w-casters-g-tour-10u-cast/

Q: 8. Can this gator case fit a tricaster?

A: No . According to specs, the rack mount NewTek Tricasters sold here are 21.5 inches deep front to back. Actual usable rack depth on these Gator shallow cases is only 12-13 . They are made for small effects units, and compact amps such as an Eden WT550. You need a rack that is a 2RU ( rack unit top to bottom spec) (maybe 3RU for extra cooling if these run hot) and a usable 21.5 inches front to back.

Q: 9. please what it the rated voltage of the power?

A: This is rated for US systems so its 110V and contains a 15amp breaker.

Q: 10. why does this photo show a 10U space rack when the listing is for a 14U. i would like to see what an 14u rack looks like when shopping for a 14U rack. can the casters be taken off and can the unit then be set on a table top?

A: There is no stock photo available for the 14U. Gator also shows a 10U on their listing for the 14U on their own website. I will pass along the feedback to them.Regarding the casters, they are not removable. Our standard GR series of racks (which is similar but without wheels) is only available up to 10U ina single unit. If additional spaces are needed, they are all stackable so a GR-6L and GR-8L can be placed on top of one another for a total of 14U. Having two separate racks would also make it more portable as they could be carried individually instead of having to carry around 14U of equipment at once. If wheels are needed later, Gator also makes compatible caster board kits which could be added to the bottom of the stack for additional ease of transport.

[17.5 lb] Great case! I have an Ampeg SVT-4 Pro, very heavy amp head. This saves my back, just extend the handle tilt and roll behind you like luggage! A must for anyone with heavy equipment.

[17.5 lb] I use this rack as a mobile DJ. My initial purchase was going to be a similar rack, but when I came across 6L Roller Rack and read the specs, I was sold. If you need durability, this is your rack. I used it the very same day I bought it, and it held up PERFECTLY!!! I still have older model amps that are heavy in weight. However, with 6L Roller Rack, it transports with ease and agility & I didn't have to kill my back with added weight. This rack is VERY light weight, so it takes away from added weight with the addition of equipment. Its like carrying around an infant child (without the worries of what will happen if it falls)!!! I love this rack and very glad I purchased it. I would recommend this rack to any and everyone.

[Front, Rear] I purchased this case to house a 3U Mackie DL32R audio interface/recorder and it is perfect for this application.  I mounted a wireless router on top of the Mackie and also mounted a power strip in the rear to power the Mackie and the router.   I then routed the power strip power cord from the rear up through the unused 1U area.  When in use, I keep the rear cover on  and position the unit vertically on the rear cover.  I remove the cover on the top end and pull out the power cord plug  end and plug it into an outlet to power the Mackie and router.   This also allows access to the I/O connectors on the front panel of the Mackie.  When finished, I tuck the power cord inside the spare 1U area, replace the top cover, and wheel it away.

[Front, Rear] Light w/ luggage handle wheels, you can buy a couple of these & stack them instead of big heavy traditional rack - easier on the back!!!

[23 x 22.5 x 13"] Moving sound equipment can be strenuous. Having the case with it's own wheels makes life a lot better. I always used a hand truck for the heavier amplifier cases, but they are always too bulky for the hand truck platform and it is tricky pulling on the case while tilting the truck backwards. Setting it down can be difficult and if the case hits too hard it can damage the equipment. The castes on the case eliminate that issue. Much more controllable and easier on your back! I would definitely recommend this type of case, and Gator is top notch!

[Polyethylene] Gator Racks are good looking, and designed trim and lean, without too much unnecessary weight added. They are very economical, especially if you order through B&H. They hold all of my professional audio equipment with no problem. This is my third Gator Rack and I highly recommend them.

[Latch] Perfect for air travel. Roomy case. I zip tied down the latches for air travel just in case (I didn't lock it in case of a TSA inspection).

[17.5 lb] Excellent price (On Sale). Great Sturdy case. I will use this case to mount Amateur Radio Equipment for use in emergencies or portable Field Day Contests. Everything I need to include in my portable station, will fit in this case nicely. I have used other Gator Cases to build up sound systems. They work great.
