Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. do these binocs come with a strap and a storage case ?

A: Yes they do. This is everything the Barska 7x50 WP Floatmaster Floating Binoculars come with.Lens ClothNeck StrapCarrying Case2 x Tethered Objective Lens CoversLimited Lifetime Warranty

Q: 2. How does the compass work? Is it displayed inside the viewing area of the binocular?

A: Yes it has an internal compass with rangefinding reticle. While the compass is electronically controlled for rapid response to bearing changes, illumination is by a natural daylight-gathering window. At night, you will need the optional external compass illuminator.

Q: 3. Are you limited by the eye cups not being able to twist into multiple heights? Any black outs for eye relief?

A: I do not believe you will have any issues. However if you do wear Glasses it might be an issue. I do recommend maybe going with a Model that have Eyecup's that can twist down, or fold down. Like a Steiner Model would work well.

Q: 4. The product looks and feels great. But I have no idea how to work everything because the generic manual is useless. For example, there IS no center focus wheel, there IS no zoom lever, there ARE no fold down/twist up/pull up eyecups, just standard rubber cups, non-adjustable. So I have no info on how to connect the strap, how to put in the batteries, how to know if there is a zoom, etc. I'll mess with it until I figure it out, but the correct manual would be great. Is there a more comprehensive one on line?

A: I haven't seen any better instructions on line. Just adjust the 2 individual eye cups to your liking and they seem to focus automatically from there. Battery is near right ring finger as you hold the binoculars. Strap holes are near each thumb as you hold the binoculars. Hope this helps.

Q: 5. what do you to clean the rubberized grips they are stickey?? yes

A: Please test a small unobtrusive area first: Try using a 70% isopropyl alcohol solution to remove the stickiness Toluene available from most home improvement stores may work better to remove the stickiness, but it is very flammable. It's a lack of polymerizer that causes the problem,. Sometimes a badly-polymerized batch from China will just turn to goo on you, but for partial cases, some boaters use 'french chalk', the powder gymnasts and rock-climbers put on their hands. Also contact KONUS directly: Tel: 305-884-7618 Email: konus@bellsouth.net

Q: 6. What is the eye relief for these bino's?

A: Unfortunately the eye relief for the Konus 7x50 Sporty Binocular has not yet been published.

Q: 7. what does the sx stand for ?

A: It's the model of the binocular. FMTRC-SX Polaris the C stands for compass and FMTR-SX is no compass.

Q: 8. I can not figure out which way the batteries go in...or what size (LR43/LR44). Batteries didn't come with mine....or even what they are for ?

A: The model takes 2 x LR43 1.5V Batteries, which should have been included in the Box. It is for the Compass/Rangefinder.

Q: 9. I'm looking for a scope that can tell me the elevation (in degrees) of an object with respect to the horizon. Sorta like a sextant for navigation, but in a compact monocular or binocular system. Any ideas??? Thank you so much!!!

A: Unfortunately we don't have anything like that.

Q: 10. can you turn the rangefinder and compass features off?

A: RANGEFINDER IS IN PLACE BUT NOT A PROBLEM, COMPASS IS VERY LOW IN RIGHT SIDE, BEST UNDER $300.00 CLASS

[Individual] These are classic Porro prism binoculars. They're easier to hold steadily than roof prism binoculars; at least for me anyway. The image is bright and very clear. They're built like a tank and rather heavy. They're too heavy to be traipsing around the woods with them hanging around your neck, but they're great for stationary use. Eye relief at 23 mm is fantastic. I wear glasses and have deep eye sockets. I can see the full field of view without difficult. I've had their big brother 10 x 70 Fujinon for a long time. These are are just as good.

[50 mm] I enjoy using these binoculars. Rugged and water resistance are good for piece of mind. I definitely recommend these if you are looking for a set that won’t break the bank or break easily.

[Individual] Working on a major marine Oil & Gas project, the Fujinon Marine Binocular is perfect for the application and conditions. They are being used by a specialty environmental group to spot turtles and other marine species which may come into contact with work being performed on this project. Perfect application for a perfect product.

[50 mm] I bought this binocular in Singapore more than 25 years ago at a price of almost $1000. It was a very expensive purchase at that time but after I tried them at the astronomy store, I was hooked. I use them for anything that requires binoculars including birding, marine, hiking and general use. When at Hayden Valley, Yellowstone NP, I could see the bears, sand cranes and a lone wolf at incredible distances. The sharpness, brightness and field of view bested most of the spotting scopes beside me. Magnification eats light, detail and field. In 7x50's, the combination of magnification and objective diameter make for the ideal balance for any hand held ocular. The compass was especially useful to point out objects to others merely by telling them the directional reading. As an amateur astronomer and an optics affictionado from childhood, I know good optics and Fujinon puts out some of the best. These are the brightest and sharpest binocular on the market, bar none. Nikon, Steiner, Leica glasses are just not as good. The lastest iteration of the 7x50FMTRCSX may be a bit different. Mine came with a bulletproof leather case and tripod mount.

[50 mm] I just purchased the binoculars. The view through the lens is clear and sharp. An added bonus that was not advertised is that once you adjust the eye pieces to you eyes, the binoculars are in focus throughout the viewing range. I have not had a chance to use the range finder system yet, and the compass is just like a hand bearing compass in that it gives the heading to what you are viewing to the nearest degree.

[Individual] Use the binoculars on my boat. Binoculars have great clarity and crispness, especially in low light. These binoculars are a bit heavy, but not their detriment; I believe it helps add to their stability. Overall, a great binocular at a great price!

[Porro (BAK4)] If you are considering these binos, check Fujinons' website for an honest posting of facts. I think you get a full value for the price. These binos are very clear with excellent contrast. Easy to use, do to individual focusing eyepieces, comfortable in the hands and quality construction throughout.
