Designed for casual users but built to high standards, the Opticron 8x25 Oregon 4 LE WP Binocularsfrom Opticron are suited to travel, backyard wildlife viewing, sporting events, festivals, and general use. Slim and compact, they feature fully multi-coated lenses and BAK4 roof prisms, which combine to optimize light transmission for a crisp image.

The 8x magnification provides plenty of detail at distance, but avoids the shaky image experienced with higher-powered optics. Complementing the optical performance is a broad 357' field of view, enhancing vistas and making it easier to track your target. Thanks to the long 16mm eye relief, you can enjoy the full field of view even wearing glasses. Three-stop twist-type rubber eyecups further accommodate eyewear and enhance your glassing comfort. The single-hinge closed bridge permits one-hand operation, and the large center focus wheel is tactile and easy to operate. Designed for durability in the field, the Oregon 4 LE's rubber-armored housing is nitrogen-filled and O-ring sealed for waterproof and fog-proof performance in all conditions. Included with the binoculars are two tethered objective lens covers, a rainguard for the ocular lenses, a strap, and a soft case.

[25 mm] These binocs completely live up to the manufacturer's description, and are an excellent value for the money. I can actually use them comfortably with glasses on (a first for me). They are so light I will just leave them in my bag ready for every walk.

[25 mm] So happy with these binoculars. And they shipped the same day as I ordered; where is in 2 days. I am considering giving these to family members as gifts as they are very affordable and great quality.

[8x] These are very useful and really good for the price. They have a nice wide view and a good depth of field. The compact shape means that the binocular' weight is close to your face, which with the lower magnification makes for an image that's easy to keep steady. The eyecups are nice for rubber; at first I thought twist-out would be a big improvement but as is, it's quick and easy to bring them to eye. They fit big and smal IPDs and are ready to pass betwee users.
I thought about rating them at 4 stars since comparison with models 3X-10X in cost shows expected superior optics, but optics on these are nice and judged on their own terms, I think they hit as much as can be expected, so I guess that's a 5.

[6.6' / 2 m] Delivery by B&H was very prompt. this pair of Opticrons's is the fifth pair i've bought.......have gifted three of them to birder family members. for the money i don't know what you'd buy that would give a better view. they gather light quite well like all inexpensive binoculars they are a little soft at the edges, but most of us concentrate on the middle view and it is tack sharp at the center. these are ideal for birders. and i've enjoyed taking them outside at night to view the sweet spots in the Milky Way. you cannot go wrong buying these at the price B&H offers.

[16 mm] Binoculars work great. The focus is wonderful and the distance is surprisingly clear. I was not expecting these to be as good as they are, especially for the price.

[Roof] These binoculars are so great. I purchased them an affordable entry to birdwatching and am thrilled with the quality. They are sharp and clear and have also greatly impressed my husband who now wants a pair. Best of all, my son wants a pair so that he can get into birding, when previously, he was dubious. Thank you!

[3.1 mm] These replaced a pair that were stolen so I already knew the quality. They had been recommended by a birding shop when I lived in CO. The difference in clarity and detail is exciting.

[Roof] Many reviews to read from on Amazon.com as well. Bhphoto had the better price even after exchange for us living in Canada. I already own a 500$ pair of 10x50 roof for stargazing and a 8x42 monocular. For me this was the perfect do all. The stability is so good that i can actually see more then some 8x42 and cheaper 10x42 binoculars I've tried. The wide field of view is appreciated in dense trees and the min viewing distance is still very low for a porro prism. Read other reviews as they can get really into depth about the lens characteristics. It's not roof flat and is very 3D like. Image is soft around the edges but nothing distracting and perhaps what gives this a better experience when you focused on something specific. This is a unique instrument and I don't see myself ever getting rid of it. Although it's not nitrogen purged, I reached out to Opticron and they actually put one in the freezer to see how it would defrost at room temp. I haven't used it in the rain just yet. One day I want to get the Kawa 6.5x32 to compare to this. All the best .
