Dedicated to the Panasonic 100-400mm DG OIS, this digital camo LensCoat Cover for Panasonic 100-400mm DG OIS Camofrom LensCoat Cover for Panasonic 100-400mm DG OIS Camoprovides waterproof protection for your investment. It also safeguards against scratches and impact, while offering a thermal barrier to keep your hands warm in cold conditions. The cover is easy to install and remove, sliding on like a sleeve and leaving no residue on the lens. It has clear, flexible PVC windows over the AF and OIS controls and the distance scale. A small hole lines up with the camera's mount indicator to make quick, easy work of aligning the lens with the mount.

Another benefit of the LensCoat is that it helps break up the shape of your lens, making it less noticeable to wildlife so you're less likely to scare them off. The cover is made in the USA from 100% closed-cell neoprene. Included is an additional piece designed for use when the lens is zoomed out to 400mm. This accessory can be attached and removed quickly via the touch-fastener strip.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this one fit the newer RF version of the same lens? The CANON RF 400 F2.8 IS.

A: No. designed and made for the Canon 400mm f/2.8 IS III Lens only.

Q: 2. Sorry I have another question. I am really considering buying this wrap. But it is costly! Do you really feel it gets you closer to birds if you are also wearing camo clothes and hat? What if you are not wearing camo clothes, then does it even matter? Thank you.

A: I would say that it can, provided you are stealthy in other ways as well (no sudden movements, camo clothes). Breaking up the head profile is important, because birds get most nervous when they perceive they are being looked at. But it won't fool birds all the time, and there are limits. The wrap also protects your lens from scratches, so you could look at it as an investment, if you ever want to sell your lens one day.

Q: 3. Does this fit the version II lens?

A: The LensCoat Lens Cover for Canon 400mm f/2.8 IS III Lens (Realtree Max5) is not compatible with the Canon 400mm f/2.8 IS II Lens. For that lens you need this LensCoat Lens Cover for the Canon 400mm f/2.8 IS II Lens (Realtree Max5). https://bhpho.to/4bgRnc2

Q: 4. Will this stay on the lense when using a close fitting case like the Think Tank Digital Holster 30 V2?

A: Yes, the LensCoat Cover for the Nikon Z 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 VR S (Realtree Max4) will stay on if you put the lens into the Think Tank Photo Digital Holster 30 V2.0 (Black).

Q: 5. Any suggestions as to best camp pattern? Arctic trip (only 1) and safaris in Africa top list. I am thinking digital as it seems to just break up the lens but new to this

A: Unfortunately, there is not one particular LensCoat pattern designed for use both in Arctic conditions and in jungle/savannah environments. Most photographers that will be shooting in multiple locations will purchase multiple lens coats. If you will only be taking each trip once and you do not want to invest in multiple lens coats, you may either use the lens as-is, or purchase the pattern for the location in which you think you will take the most images. The Digital Camo option would be good for arctic conditions and may have slightly more flexibility, but the color may stand out in sandy or wooden environments found in the jungle/savannah, for which the Realtree Max5 may be a better option.

Q: 6. Canon 100-400 L IS II which cover fits?

A: This cover will work with the Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM Lens.

Q: 7. does it work with canon 1dx ii and 600mm f4 lens ?

A: Yes the LensCoat RainCoat 2 Pro Camera Cover (Realtree Max5) will work with the Canon 1dx II with the Canon 600mm f/4 lens attached.

Q: 8. Will the lenscoat bodyguard CB work with this cover?

A: The camera could be in the LensCoat BodyGuard CB when using the LensCoat RainCoat 2 Pro Camera Cover.

Q: 9. Will this fit with a Wimberely Sidekick attached to a RRS ballhead and a 600mm Nikon lens?

A: It should fit with no problems. I use the Raincoat with my 600mm Nikon lens on Wimberly head. The Raincoat has a Velcro bottom closure that fits around the mounting foot so there is no interference with the mounting foot and head.

Q: 10. How do you zoom with the neoprene on the barrel, or is it stuck at 400?

A: The sleeve that exactly fits over the barrel extended to 400mm attaches with a velcro strip. When you want to use as a zoom lens, you simply undo the velcro. I then refasten the velcro and hang the circular piece over my gimbal head where it can't get lost. When I hand hold, I just leave the extension cover off.

[0.15 lb] I decided to protect my new lens with a Lenscoat tree pattern cover. Well, if you have strong hands, installation would be easy. Hands with arthritis is another story. I did get it put on lens but it took some time. I left the last piece off as I often use the polarizing filter. All in all it serves a good purpose and looks pretty good out in the Everglades.

[0.15 lb] When you pay $12,000 for a lens, you want to do all you can to protect it. LensCoat lens covers are the real deal. This is the third super telephoto lens I have covered with a LensCoat cover. All the pieces were cut to fit and the assembly process was quick and painless. Everything fit as it was intended. When you use a lens that is almost two feet long, it tends to get bumped from time to time. The LensCoat cover does an excellent job of protecting the lens from scratches and dings. I recently sold a lens that had been protected with a LensCoat cover. When the cover was removed, the lens looked like it did the day it was purchased. Besides protection, the LensCoat cover provides camouflage and a warm touch on cold days. I would not use a long telephoto without it.

[0.15 lb] I purchased this not really sure I was going to like it. To my surprise, and relief, I really like this product. It not only offers a protective covering for the lens but it also provides a barrier between a cold metal lens and my fingers on winter days. It's easy to put on and take off again when not needed. Since it comes in pieces I can use only those segments I wish to use. This is s great produce; I am very happy with it and would recommend it to anyone.

[0.15 lb] Good way to protect the lens and barrel from minor dings and bumps. Looks good too. Takes a little time to work the pieces onto the lens barrel and get into position, but looks good and stays in place.
