Switch four HDMI inputs onto one HDMI display using this 4x1 UHD 4K HDMI Switcher | High-Quality Video Switchingfrom Comprehensive. The switcher supports input and output of up to UHD 4K60 video with up to 7.1-channel embedded audio for display from multiple sources such as a computer, Blu-ray, camera for display on a monitor, TV, switcher, recorder, live broadcast/stream, or digital signage. It fits right into your classroom, conference room, showroom, lecture hall, retail display, and wherever you need a display with multiple sources.

Video features include support for 3D video, 12-bit deep color, HDCP, EDID management, and ARC (audio return channel). It can input and pass through embedded PCM and Dolby digital audio, and you can de-embed the audio over the 3.5mm line output to a speaker system or mixer. For longer cable runs, the switcher also supports equalization and re-clocking so there's no delay or loss of signal.

The switcher can be controlled remotely by the included IR remote, and you can also control it via the RS-232 port with a separately available adapter and serial controller. A power supply is included as well as an IR receiver cable and an optical audio adapter for optional S/PDIF output.

Q: 1. Is it possible to attach an IR extender? I plan to put this out of sight, but still want remote functionality.

A: Unfortunately we are not aware of an IR extender for this product.

Q: 2. Is there a lag in the output video after switching among inputs?

A: With switchers like this there will tend to be a delay when switching from input to input. However we are not aware of any lag once the video has been switched.

Q: 3. does it pass CEC commands?

A: Yes it does. KanexPro lists this model as having CEC - Pass through enabled.

Q: 4. If the audio out is used does the HDMI out retain its audio or is audio completely stripped from the signal? Also does the audio in jack replace the HDMI audio, mix it in, or add extra channels?

A: The HDMI will still have the audio on the output. However if you use the audio jack in it will replace the HDMI audio, it will not mix the two.

Q: 5. Does the CEC function works by plugging the computer in the HDMI port and it should open a TV with CEC compatibility right?

A: The CEC function is enabled between the HDMI connection and a screen that offers the protocol also.

Q: 6. Is this unit backward compatible with regular HD (1080) ?

A: Yes, the BZBGEAR 4x1 8K60 HDMI 2.1 Switcher can handle up to Up to 8K60 resolution not excluding 1080.

Q: 7. Seamless switching?

A: We're afraid not. This is not a seamless switcher.

Q: 8. Does EXT-UHD600-41 support Dolby Vision?

A: According to Gefen it will support Dolby Vision, in Pass Through Mode.

Q: 9. Would this splitter take a direct signal from a Mackbook pro with USB-C out using the HDMI adapter?

Q: 10. I have a receiver setup of 5.1.4 Atmos. What will happen to the audio signal when passing through this device on a movie that contains atmos. I noticed that the device only supports 7.1.?

A: This supports up to 7.1 channels, which would tend to mean it will support lower options as well. It should work fine with the Atmos you have.

[UHD 4K at 60] I was searching for a small switcher with audio De embedding. Found it with this small well built switch. Very happy! Used it with DVD player, PC and a Mac laptop. Switched like a charm. 5

[HDMI: 7-Channel] I have a Pioneer krp-500m monitor, which has limited HDMI inputs and no optical output. I'm using this switch to connect a chromecast, ps4, and nintendo switch, while outputting the audio via optical to a sound bar. It works perfectly and the auto-switching is great. Even though I'm not using the HDR and 4K capabilities right now, it'll be nice to have for a future monitor and TV. 5

[HDMI: 7-Channel] setup was a breeze - I don't care about the 'auto' setting, so I turned it off. The only complaint I have at this point is that the status lights on the front panel are much brighter than they need to be. I haven't played with the audio options yet - this is for switching a 4K monitor between a couple of computers and (future use) one or two cameras, so audio is much less important for me 5

[HDMI: 7-Channel] Once again, Gefen has produced a product of the highest standard for today’s high definition needs. I have been using Gefen HD switchers for everything 1080 and now needed a 4K/HDR switcher. There are other good brands out there that will get the job done but don’t do it quite as well as Gefen in my opinion. This switcher is flawless as far as function goes. I have not had any issues at all. Although I am using this switcher with the general settings, It can do a lot more with its custom settings to really expand on your home theater options. You get what you pay for here in this superb product that will last into the future as far as 4K/HDR goes. 5

[1.4 lb] I'm using the video switcher to capture lectures and classroom sessions when we have 2-4 cameras in use. The switcher is quick, small, and easy to operate. The only downside is that break-before-make (BBM) switching can cause a blink between channel transitions, but it is very short and we can accept this given the price of the product and audience for our videos. 5
