The SmallHD Cage Hood Kit for 703 UltraBright Monitorincludes two metal brackets that attach to the monitor and provide mounting points for accessories. The brackets mount on the left and right sides of the monitor and provide 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threads for accessories. They also feature slots for attaching the optional dedicated sun hood for this monitor, which secures by magnetic mini-rods into these slots. Four screws are included for attaching the cage to the monitor.

A: The SmallHD 703 UltraBright On-Camera Monitor is not sold with a mount, so you would need to purchase one separately. As for which one to get, that depends on where you want to mount the monitor to, and which kind of mounting support you have for your camera. If you want to mount directly to the Z8 the only option you have is the cold shoe on top or the 1/4"-20 tripod threading on the bottom. I recommend using the Axler AA-7 Recodo Articulating Arm (7"), BH #AXAA7. As for transmission, you would need a wireless transmission system like the Teradek Bolt 6 XT 750 12G-SDI/HDMI Wireless RX/TX Deluxe Kit (Gold Mount), BH #TE102300G.

[0.4 lb] The screen on the 702 Touch has a slightly wider gamut and I like the touch screen but switched this for 2 reason. More power efficient and can show 2 inputs at once. For setting up and checking on multiple cameras this has been amazing. Set up a button for SDI 1 and SDI 2 and multi view. Then I can quickly jump to one input or another or both. Makes setting up an interview easy and also great for just keeping an eye on multiple cameras. 5

[0.4 lb] I prefer this version of the hood that includes a cage with multiple 1/4-20 mounting holes. Much improved designed over the one for the 702 which would easily break at the plastic mounts. 5

[0.4 lb] The price was bit much but since it's a tool I use every time I shoot it's worth the investment for top quality gear. This monitor is so much brighter than any other monitor I have ever used. I think this is my 4th smallhd monitor and by far it's the best. Evenin bright sunlight I could see everything- wow! 5

[0.4 lb] I love smallhd's monitors. This one is my fourth, and by far the best. The picture quality is outstanding and for critical 4K focus it does the job well. Very bright even outdoors in bright sunlight. A must have for my camera setups is a quality monitor of a decent size and this checks all the boxes. I love that I can power this easily with the included cable and d-tap. 5

[0.4 lb] This is overall a fantastic monitor. I found it to be totally usable outdoors without a sunhood - just don't expect it to compete with the glare from direct sun hitting the screen. It's worth noting that this monitor is significantly heavier than the 702 Bright and not as ideal for smaller setups. 5
