[0.145 lb] This hood lens is perfect for our Sony a6000 camera- fiting the larger lens circumference of the 24-240 lens. Most of our hood lens' are interchangeable at the standard 2-1/2" on size, but the 24-240 lens is 3". This was the only one we found in this size and it's perfect. Snaps in tight and well made. 5

[0.145 lb] It attaches to the front of the lens with a bayonet mount. It's lens specific to the SEL5518Z, Sony FE 55mm f/1.8 Zeiss. It's a lens hood. It reduces or eliminates ghosting and flare. It's solid plastic. It came with your lens. Go look for your box. It's in there. The only reason you would need to buy this is if you somehow managed to break the hood that came with your lens. To do that, you probably also broke the lens, but this is sold as a separate part just in case you are the extreme fringe case like me, who broke a lens hood without breaking the lens. 5

[0.145 lb] I bought this to replace my cracked RX10 Mk IV lens hood. I’ve been using it for several weeks now and have noticed no loosening or other problems. One thing I noticed is that it doesn’t align perfectly when screwed on (maybe off by 5 degrees from vertical) but that doesn’t bother me too much. It is larger than the factory RX10 hood, so it’s a little harder to zip my bag closed. Great replacement product overall. 5
